And then last week, he went home and was watching a game when a new commercial for "Call of Duty: Black Ops" came on his television. Seen through Walker's eyes, the content was bad enough. A woman in high heels, a hotel concierge, a guy in a fast-food worker's outfit -- they're all shooting automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades in an urban warfare setting.
He was already disgusted, but about halfway through the spot, Walker did a double take: Wait! Wasn't that Kobe Bryant?
Seriously, is that really Kobe Bryant carrying an assault weapon with the word "MAMBA" on the barrel? Did Kobe Bryant, the highest-paid player in the NBA, take money not only to advertise a shooting game but actually shoot -- or simulate shooting -- an automatic weapon while doing it? None of his people, not his wife or his agent or someone in the NBA offices, advised him against this?
"I couldn't believe it was him," Walker says. "What's wrong with him?"

His testicles produce testosterone? I say kudos to Kobe.
WTF is wrong with someone who hyperventilates over something like this?

LOL - someone has their panties in a twist.
It’s just a video game for crying out loud. The suburban kids in my neighborhood regularly play these games and they aren’t then going out and really shooting up our neighborhood.
That’s only “objectionable” if that isn’t a LaRue Tactical QD mount on that sight... ;-)
Looks like the stock should be higher on his shoulder.
The commercial is brilliant...Jimmy Kimmel firing a RPG is even better than the Kobe spot.
He’s really tall. Maybe its an optical illusion. Haha.

Yea, with the “proud noob” painted on it. That was priceless.
“but actually shoot — or simulate shooting — an automatic weapon”
Shooting things is fun, sometimes, and shooting many things quickly is usually more fun.
Awesome commercial.
Kobe Bryant is a good guy. Kobe Bryant told Chris Collingsworth that representing the USA in the Olympics was his greatest achievment. Collingsworth almost fell out of his chair. Kobe Bryant repeated himself and said the USA jersey was his most prized posession and he loves what America stands for.
Er, nothing? What, exactly, is objectionable about this image? Aside from the obvious, "It's a game, relax," that is racing through my mind, what is wrong with this image? It's a guy, with a gun, shooting bad guys who also have guns, in a game.

LeBron could learn a lot from Kobe, and not just about basketball.
I’m not a big video game player (will play Wii with the kids a bit), but this commercial tempts me to get in on the fun...
Exactly what the person who made this commercial was paid to do.
Tim Keown should stick to listing box scores and stay out of social matters.
did I see the new improved Horatio Sanz in that commercial?
Yeah - brilliant and amusing commercial. How P.C. do you have to be to get offended? Rhetorical question . . .
I thought it was brilliant.
The first mission is a Castro assassination attempt. Shooting commies is always fun ... making Castro mad is just a bonus.

I’m not a huge video game guy ... but I do like the Call of Duty series, and a couple of the action franchises (James Bond, Rainbow Six, Batman, etc.).
