The 2010 season is winding down and there are only four undefeated teams left going into the home stretch. The media is obviously hoping for a matchup between No. 1 Oregon and No. 2 Auburn, but are they really the two best teams?
All four of these undefeated teams are in the top eight nationally in total offense. It is on the defensive side of the ball where the distinction lies. Oregon, TCU and Boise State are all in the top 20 in total defense. Boise State and TCU are in the top three.
Auburn is ranked No. 51 in total defense, and I think that this is destined to be its downfall. With games coming up against Alabama and South Carolina, the Tigers' luck will likely run out.
My power ranking as of today would be:
No. 1 Boise State No. 2 Oregon No. 3 TCU No. 4 Auburn

Reggie Bush was in the NFL for 4 years before USC was punished for anything.
1 game does not a season make...
Let me say it again... If either one of those 2 teams played a 10 game schedule in the Big 10, SEC, Big 12 or the PAC 10 conference, their stats would be WAY down and more importantly, they’d have at least 2 or 3 losses... Sorry - Neither one of them belong in the top 5... I just looked at both TCU & Boise State’s schedules - and I’m still laughing.

What a scumbag cheap shot.
Nonsense.
As an SMU fan it pains me to compliment TCU, but I have watched that team for years. This year’s squad is loaded with Senior talent and would give any team a very good game.
I am sure both TCU and Boise would jump at the chance to play in a BCS conference. But the system is rigged to favor a few select conferences. That is why I see the schedule/conference whining a moot point. TCU and Boise don’t have the option of playing in the SEC or Big Ten. But they have both taken care of the schedule they were given. If they are the last two standing, let them play.
And to avoid this nonsense in the future, instead of having this farcical BCS game, institute a true 16-team playoff and settle the championship on the field like its done for every other sport at every level.
Yeah , but they kept hitting us when were weren't ready and refused to be arm tackled. Kyle Wittingham is a damn BYU deep cover mole, I knew it.
Iron Eyes Cody weeps for the Utes like the the crazy horse called Beck. Utes start TCU game ranked 5 , end the game like number two.
Bama will be loaded for bear (pun intended) Saban will havew the Tide foaming at the mouth. If War Eagle wins, and then beats SC in Atlanta, they should be #1..no matter what the Ducks do...<{>
Here’s anoher interesting thought..there’s about a 3% probability..if everythign broke right, that Oregon finishes up at #1, and Stanford jumps to #2..that would set up a REMATCH for the BCS title game..that would be a bummer..

I wonder if the NCAA is putting money on games and manipulating the points with the eligibility?
Still think the thug should have been ejected from that hit in the Georgia game.
Somebody can't handle losinG...
Of course they do. They come into their bowl game well rested and uninjured after playing a season comprised mostly of scrimmages against teams like Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State, UNLV, and Wyoming.
So you are in favour of the auto bowl berth for the ACC?
Who’s current leader happens to have been beated by BSU?
Just sayin’.
You have to admit it is weird and inconsistent. UGA lost A.J. for 4 games when he sold a jersey online to someone he never met and wasn’t a declared agent while Miss. St. lost a player for 2 games for taking twice as much money directly from a declared agent. just sayin...
Actually, it’s like the Negro league’s top team pasting the Cardinals and the Pirates every year.
lol, I took a double look when I saw the way you ended your post and the way I ended my post immediately after yours.
Auburn will get another chance to paralyze Garcia in the SEC Championship game.
That kind of says it all. If Auburn gets through their SEC schedule undefeated there is no question they should be ranked number 1. (and this is from an Alabama fan)
I will be rooting for Alabama to win the Iron Bowl, but if Auburn beats us they should play for the BCS Championship.
After watching that poor display of gamesmanship by the Defense in the 4th qtr of the Georgia game, I have become a fan of any team playing Auburn. Chizik was also also loving it on the sidelines...not cool.
