The One returns to the country this week amid fairly negative reports on his Asian trip's success. Yet he seems oblivious to his setbacks, both abroad and here at home with the midterm elections.

He probably thinks one or two more speeches will solve everything...

Plus a friendly arm-twisting session when he meets with Republican leadership Thursday night.

WHY did FoxNews purposely schedule Brit Hume’s “Rise and Fall of Conservatism” opposite of Sarah Palin’s Alaska show??

We’re watching Palin, coming in on commercials to Fox. Isn’t there enough programming space on Fox to prevent a conflict like this? After all, 90% of it is repetative at best.

Another long time business is closing shop in the area...a victim of the r ecession, it's featured in the local paper this morning.

BTW, can anyone tell me what happened with the Gov race in MN, and if it went from R to D, why that happened, bucking the trend this year? Pawlenty did a good job, didn't he?

Good Morning, Molly et al!

I am back at work to recover from the weekend. I pulled out the defective dishwasher and took it back to Lowe's on Saturday. I had the new one installed and working Saturday morning.

The inside walls of the shop are installed and stained! Barb will put poly finish on them today. I have a few pieces of insulation to install above the walls and then I can install the lumber rack on the south wall and really clean up the shop. The mezzanine posts and girders are the next to go up.

On a sad note, my "Krazy Kousin Karl" passed away yesterday morning. He was a WWII vet and a retired surveyor. He could tell one-liners all evening and never repeat himself. One of his favorite stunts was when they would have a party at their home, he would change into his fishing clothes, sneak out the back window, grab his creel and fishing rod and walk around to the front door, knock and ask directions to town, claiming to be lost! He was a great guy and I shall miss him. We were able to see him last July and Jack and Barb had a chance to meet him. He was nearly blind and needed care, but he had his wits about him and was happy. A couple of weeks after we saw him, he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and it went fast.

My uncle up north is also in the hospital with a lung ailment. He isn't doing well, either. Please remember my Uncle Ken in your prayers. Thanks!
