Stepped-up security screening at airports in the wake of foiled terrorism plots has provoked an outcry from airline pilots and travelers, including parents of children who say they are too intrusive.
Are you less likely to fly because of stepped-up security procedures such as full-body scans and patdowns?
Yes - I will make alternate travel plans to avoid intrusive security scans and patdowns
No - It is a necessary procedure to ensure terror plots are thwarted
Undecided

It's also the long security lines, the multitude of prohibited items in carry-on, the cramped seats, & general discomfort of the entire experience.
When you have to get there 3 hours in advance, then sit at the gate for another hour while the stewardess auctions off seats in a full plane, that 3 hour flight becomes an all day nightmare. Driving is not nearly that aggravating.
Thank him for his service. And thank you for yours.
People forget that the families at home suffer, too. I've watched friends deploy and helped with their household stuff and kids. It sucks.
I've sat at home with my daughter when her husband was deployed. She didn't want to watch television because... well, she didn't want to find out that way, should something bad happen.
Thank your husband for his service for me. He is appreciated. You are as well.

Discomfort is right. I don’t fly anymore and probably never will again, not by choice any way. Does anyone but me remember what it was like to fly in the late 50s and early 60s? Plenty of room, service that was top notch and barely any carry ons allowed and certainly no pat downs or searches or body scans allowed.
I remember - was one of those bright, perky, airline hostesses in my wonderful brown TWA uniform. Was great to fly then. KC to LAX was eight hours with a stop in Wichita and Amarillo and we served two full meals but the passengers were wonderful-mostly guys. Life was good!

Fortunately, being a pilot, a fly myself when the need arises. Otherwise, I drive...
How about a medical privacy defense?
You know, revealing medical information is forbidden.
So, my x-rays, prostheses, implants, etc., are private medical information!!
Will this fly (oops, no pun intended)?
Between the airline industry nickling and diming us to death and this naked-body scanning, it's incredible anyone still flies anywhere willingly. The powers that be could have saved us billions of dollars by simply profiling terrorists, but noooooo, that would be too much like identifying with Israel to make them comfortable. I equate flying these days with having root canal work done or wisdom teeth pulled. I agree with you Secret Agent Man.

“I dont mind driving.”
When the price of gas doubles in the coming months, you might think again.
Not a chance.
As much as I’d like to avoid a tsa probing, there are a lot of trips I cannot take by means other than aircraft. Of the trips I no longer fly I just don’t take them (i.e. stay home) rather than find alternate means of travel.
We will be driving. I will not allow that to happen to my wife or let some government half-wit fondle my privates.
You got that right!
And what you described is why I believe that all this stuff they are doing is deliberate. To deliberately hurt the airlines (thus the economy) and also to get the sheeple law-enforcement rape compliant and not to fight back against this crap. Because they are going to start doing it in other places. Train stations. Long-haul bus terminals. The large metro subways.
It's already begun. Meanwhile no profiling allowed. I assure you millions upon millions of Americans ARE profiling. No doubt most people at an average airport have great concern about boarding any flight with people appearing to be from countries known to have anti-American/terrorist ties. Homeland Security and TSA have become cartoon page jokes and will nowhere around when the plane is miles high in the sky and the burka babe who refuses to be scanned below her neck detonates.
Your prayers and words of encouragement are appreciated. Thank you.
I just fly my own plane where I want to go.
As for getting on a commercial flight? No way.
