The Reign of Right-Wing Primetime

Moreover, if you're a liberal viewer in a major city (which typically correlates with higher education) and you have such titles as "Mad Men" and "Dexter" to watch each week, are you going to also be interested in seeing a paint-by-numbers crime procedural on broadcast or a laugh-track-boosted sitcom? On the scripted side, at least, the explosion of complex dramas on cable may have ceded some of the broadcast ground to what one might label Republican tastes.

ALL of TV is crap and propaganda anyway. I canceled over a year ago. All the networks and hollywood support the muslim plus have saudi shareholders and partners.

Mad Men is trash that smears Christians and wasps circa 1950s or so. Just like Desperate Housewives. All the men are creeps and the women are sl*ts. Nonsense for idiots.

I am willing to wager cold, hard cash that I have a much higher level of education and old-fashioned common sense than does the snarky twit who wrote this pile of tripe.

NCIS went lib 2 years ago, especially after the Palin jab. Medium went libtard as well, especially after the “drunk war vet” episode. CSI is a sinking ship after Peterson left.
How I Met Your Mother features a horndog character who in real life is a flaming homo. Glee is disfunctional crap. Mythbusters became an Obama ass-kissing show.

I just DL episodes of warehouse 13, Burn Notice, and Chuck (with Adam Baldwin). Heck, Cheaters’ entertains me at 3 in the morning LOL.

Go to major cities like Detroit, Philadelphia, Newark and walk the street at midnight to meet with that “higher education” sector of the country up close and personal.

I had NO idea I was so behind the times. The ONLY show on either list I’ve EVER watched is Beck. I feel so, so, well, left out. Tried to watch Friday Night Lights once because it was supposed to be about Texas high school football. Little did I know that was just a loosely applied “premise” for the show — PUKE! Friday Night Emoting would have been a dead on title. Thirty minute ha’s ha’s and one hour soap operas? No thanks! I guess my illiterate red neck is showing.

I don’t think ANYONE should be watching prime time TV, and especially if you are a Christian. The shows and the ads are filled with immodest images and stuff people just don’t need to have parading before their eyes at all.

You are what you eat! Those shows are just doublepluss not good. Having said that, I about cried when they canceled Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles, so I am not up on a high horse here, heh.

Why would an excerpt begin well into an article and start with “moreover”?

(Likewise, left-wingers have a stronger affinity for certain veteran crime procedurals, including “The Closer” and “Law & Order,” as well as anything that appeals strongly to women.)

I have a much simpler explanation. Republicans don’t watch shows that attack or demean Republicans or Conservatives! Many of the shows that are mentioned as liked only by Democrats, routinely do just that. If I had to write the summary of this article, I would say that shows that allow Conservatives to enjoy them without feeling attacked, are much more likely to succeed. It would also say that despite knowing that, many “well written” shows don’t give a crap, and cannot help themselves but to attack and demean Republicans and Conservatives, and are rarely super-hits!
Is it any surprise that super-hits are shows that are liked by both Republicans and Democrats? Just the fact that there are so few shows that do not drift toward the left politically, means that Republicans have fewer choices, and that those choices are therefore much more likely to become hits.
DUH!

I hope that some day I will be educated and sophisticated enough to watch Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami.

Not sure I understand the methodology. The Good Wife rates 124 with Dems and 119 with Pubbies. Yet, it's not on the Republican list. Desperate Housewives rates 116 with Republicans and 116 with Democrats, yet it's said to be a "Republican" show. Republicans are supposed to be into cookie cutter crime dramas because they give NCIS a 115 instead of a 109, but Democrats watch Law & Order SVU and they're all smart and sophisticated. And Republicans are into dopey sit-coms because 2 1/2 men got a 112 instead of a 105, but liberals watch 30 Rock and Community. Plus quite a few of the shows bolstering the author's argument aren't even on either list.

The Walking Dead went liberal after the sheriff executed a Nancy Pelosi look-a-like who was crawling on the grass outside the hospital the sheriff had been recuperating in.

I note they cherry pick some top notch shows but they seem to leave a few out:

A mother sells drugs and ruins her family. This is a comedy show.

A drug addict nurse spends day stealing drugs and cheating on her husband. She is the hero.

A drunk/high/sex addict writer sleeps around and exposes his hedonism to his 14 year old daughter and ruining his marriage. This is a comedy. Seems very intellectual.

I should become smarter to enjoy this style of entertainment.

Even educational TV is anything but. I remember Michael Savage saying that “The National Geographic Channel is very PC and left-wing. Every other show is about how a comet will hit the Earth and kill us all, or how global warming will kill us all, or how we’re just a bunch of molecules with no soul.”

I myself gave up on the History Channel after their current program director took over in 2006 and turned it into National Enquirer TV.

Occasionally I contemplate getting cable again, then spend a week or two on travel and get to see what’s on TV at my hotel room - and I realize I’m not missing much.
