My college roomie had a GTO with the Hurst shifter..he'd sit there ont he street..burn rubber in all 4 gears and never move a foot..
I always preferred the Bonneville 2+2..same great performance, and it had an awesomely big rear seat..(g)

Could you please explain to me the function of sitting still burning rubber? My son was showing me videos of people doing it and the point was completely lost on me. He thought I was being deliberately stupid but my stupidity, if any, was completely unintentional. Am I right in concluding that this destroys one’s tires? Why would anyone do this?

My ‘68 got scratch in 2nd (unintentionally) didn’t seem feasible to try it in a higher gear.
