LOUT Laura Hall is the first person to be banned from buying or drinking booze ANYWHERE in the country. Magistrates slapped the Drinking Banning Order (DBO) on Hall after she was involved in a run of alcohol-related public order offences.
Cops argued strict measures were needed to deal with the 20-year-old's drunken behaviour.
The DBO means Hall is not allowed in any pub, club, off-licence or bar in England and Wales for the next two years. She is also banned from buying booze - or having alcohol in an unsealed container or drinking in any public place. And she must attend an alcohol-misuse course.
Sgt David Roberts added: "Rather than seeing it as a punishment, we hope she'll use it to get her life on track." Hall, of Bromsgrove, Worcs, had already been banned from all her local pubs before yesterday's decision by Kidderminster JPs.
Licensing officer PC Neil Sharpe said he hoped the order would prove an "example to others".
He added: "A DBO is a powerful tool for tackling alcohol-related disorder. We will not hesitate to apply for more and we hope that others with drink-related issues will take note of this."
DBOs were launched by the Home Office last September. But Rachel Seabrook, of the Institute of Alcohol Studies, doubted whether the order could be enforced.
She said: "How can a police officer in Wales know this women has been banned if she turns up in his town?"

"How can a police officer in Wales know this women has been banned if she turns up in his town?" Sounds like she will need a 24 hour escort.

The 18th amendment to the Constitution, which created Prohibition, did not forbid possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages. Perhaps the Volstead Act did.

Hall is not allowed in any pub, club, off-licence or bar in England and Wales for the next two years. Time for a stay in Scotland.

Just about anyone who has been put on probation for drunk driving in the USA is banned from buying or consuming alcohol anywhere in the WORLD. It’s a standard condition of probation.

I see they have their Lindsay Lohans just like we do.
However, take away the makeup and the airbrushing, that is one horse-faced alky.

Maybe they could think about implementing that here in the U.S.
I live in a very small rural town & the police reports are mostly DUI more than anything else and DUI persons driving without licenses!!! They just don't learn from our punishments here in the U.S.

Yes. They never had Prohibition but they are being stricter there than it was in the US during Prohibition.
At least in the UK it isn't too far to travel to France or Ireland--for most people in the US a trip to Canada, Cuba, or Mexico during Prohibition was a long trip. Of course there were speakeasies to handle that problem.

Maybe they could think about implementing that here in the U.S. And that kind of thinking is why we are losing our freedoms left and right.
How about the government punish ACTUAL CRIMES, rather than these malum prohibitum FAKE CRIMES? How about the government just leave us alone!
