Yes. They never had Prohibition but they are being stricter there than it was in the US during Prohibition.

At least in the UK it isn't too far to travel to France or Ireland--for most people in the US a trip to Canada, Cuba, or Mexico during Prohibition was a long trip. Of course there were speakeasies to handle that problem.

They aren’t as strict as other european countries, however. In other places you immediately lose your license, pay a heavy fine and could go to jail depending on the circumstances.

And she’s the only one they’ve ever done this to. Since they are pretty lenient in general to criminals over there, and punish those who self-defend themselves harsher than the criminals that get injured while committing crimes, I suspect she had a very long and hellish record of offenses before they finally slapped this on her.
