Good evening!
Election Week has arrived, and with it we hope ~~real hope ~~ the beginning of a return to sanity.
So many races to follow after many days of effort.
I think that with very few exceptions we can be proud of our side and the campaigns waged on principle and ideas, and many small contributions from many different sources. It's been amazing!

Yes. My motor is in gear and I’m slogging through my list of stuff. I’ll be in and out as I transition from one thing to another. BTW, the TV is OFF!

Today’s launch of the shuttle has been delayed at least until Monday and maybe until December. More details available later.

Nevertheless, a New York Times analysis of Federal Election Commission records found the American Future Fund, an Iowa-based nonprofit that reported spending just over $8 million on 25 House and Senate races, won in 76 percent of them, giving it the highest winning percentage among the biggest-spending Republican-leaning groups. Wow, effective success in a fiscally responsible manner. WTG!!

GOP establishment more of a liability, INDEED! We attempted to watch Foxnews last night at various times but when Karl Rove and then (even worse) Lindsey Graham and Orrin Hatch came on.....we utilized the remote control each time.
WHY does Fox insist on dampening the celebration by bringing out these senate fossils, and in the case of Rove, Tea Party denigrater?
BTW, hello everybody, busy morning here and I’m just trying to catch up a bit then on my way down to the rec hall to lead the bible study class.

Fascinating stuff. That excerpt that Raven posted upthread about the three IA judges getting canned is all over the internet.
Is there anything that can now be done to set IA back into the one man-one woman marriage category?

Don't take it personally, lysie. Raven is just suffering from Post-Election Letdown Syndrome. In fact, he's probably not up to much of a Friday celebration.
I had a dose of it last night, but it's passed....

Is there anything that can now be done to set IA back into the one man-one woman marriage category?Since the question on the recent ballot: "Shall the State of Iowa convene a Constitutional Convention"? was voted down, the only way to change it is by way of a Constutional Amendment. That process takes at least 3 years, at the minimum, before it can go to the voters for ratification.
The question on the Constutional Convention is required by law on Iowa's ballots every 10 years.

I heard she was going to pray about it. It wasn’t 15 minutes later it was written that she was going to run for speaker again. How many seconds did she pray about it?
