Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau says President Barack Obama is difficult to satirize. In an interview marking Doonesbury's 40th anniversary, Slate.com's David Plotz asked Trudeau: Who's the hardest politician to satirize, and why? Trudeau answered:

When you are a fellow traveler Marxist, socialist, communist (take your pick), I guess it is hard to see satire in what you really believe in.
If we could peer inside Trudeau’s working room, he probably has an Obama shrine with a life-sized statue of The Great Spreader displayed prominently. Trudeau has relegated his statue of Slick Willy to his basement of forgotten, liberal icons.
I was on STL Today article and was posted from where I reading. Why in the hell would I want to direct anyone to a site that is affiliated with the Post-Dispatch?

He depicted Clinton as a waffle, because he wasn’t “liberal enough”. And when the Lewinsky scandal hit, you’d think it would have been a cartoonist’s goldmine. But instead he spent his time satirizing Ken Starr.
Not to worry, Gary, but in two more years you’ll have a President that you’ll have no problem in satirizing at all, because we’ll be back to a Republican Prez again, which, after all, ever good leftist media shill knows is more satirizable than any Democrat.

I enjoyed the early DOONESBURY, which seemed to make fun of everyone — liberals, conservatives, militants. Then it slid into left-wing self-righteousness. Probably Obama is too much of a sacred cow.
What's their ages? My boss "knew" her back in the 60s.
