What are they gonna do when they run out of cat names?

I'm waiting for OSX.10 Smilodon... and OSX.11 Sabertooth...

There are a LOT of cats still left to use...

Doesn't the p-word apply generically to Macs? That's a cat name.

(Come on, Mac fanboi's... it's a joke....)

ahahaa, like that one.

We have both Windows 7 and OS X at home... and I find Windows is still a more productive and enjoyable experience.

Also, I’ve gotten a bit tired of the gray metallic UI theme in OS X... also tired of the fact that Apple won’t let you change it. UI themes are completely locked down, and you get only two options.

If you think you can’t change OS X’s appearance, then you haven’t looked hard enough for solutions. I’m running a custom theme right now.

By then it’ll be time for OS XI and they can use a whole new naming convention. Perhaps the Greek pantheon.

Do tell if it’s so easy to do.

What I said is correct: There are only two selections available in the Appearance combo box available in System Preferences: The settings you can choose from are Blue and Graphite.

The drab UI in OS X is miserable when compared to Windows 7. What’s worse, when I lower screen brightness to save battery life, the text on the window titles and window tabs in Safari... becomes completely unreadable. Dark gray text on gray backgrounds provides extremely poor contrast.

Mission control looks very useful. I also like the integration of spaces with a swipe across the touchpad. The launch pad looks useful as well.

But I wonder if the kernel will run in 64-bit mode by default.

Google for Deviantart Macintosh Utilities. I’d link, but FR seems to have a problem where any text written after creating that link disappears. I’m running SnowTunes at the moment.

Yes, but the problem is that you only looked as far as the System Preferences pane. You didn’t bother to search over the interwebs to see if there were any alternatives.

Dark gray text on gray backgrounds provides extremely poor contrast.

Start reading different sites or use Reader mode.

Many of the OS X visual components can be edited with the Gimp (or any reasonable graphics editor.

I hear ya’ on that. I miss the bright colors and such in Aqua on my iTunes and the like.

Years ago I used Now Menus to change the themes, but I think they closed their doors.

See ya’,
