Noted astronomer, theorist, and UFO investigator Jacques Vallee is scheduled to appear on Coast to Coast this evening with host George Knapp.
thanks for the heads up.
If he is any relation to Rudy Valee, then maybe he can sing “I’m Just a Vagabond”...
Rudy Vallee, that is...
Me too. I like Noory, he’s fairly good.
The one I can’t stand is Punnet.
This is Ian Punnet... this is Ian Punnet... this is Ian Punnet...
Then he spends half the show either flat out arguing with the guest, or telling the guest what their book REALLY means...
Guy drives me nuts. Unless he has an exceptional guest or show topic, I don’t even listen on Fri-Sat anymore.
I didn’t know Vallee was still alive
Punnet is a square.
He’s not terribly old, he’s just been spreading stupidity for a long time.
No that is NOT me but a cool tinfoil hat photo I found on the Intarwebs. I'm in China, my tinfoil hat is tailor made!
I don’t know anything about Jacques Vallee.
Jacques Vallee is a no-nonsense investigator/scientist. His background is information systems and networking. He developed data bases of UFO sightings and saw strange correlations between certain elements in all sightings.
Like John Keel, he is not well liked in the UFO-nut community, because, although he believes that UFO’s are real, he does not support the extraterrestrial hypothesis.
His book “Dimensions” is riveting. He goes back through history and shows that UFO’s have been with us a long time, and that the idea that they are “aliens” visiting Earth makes no sense when you look at the nature of actual sightings.

A very good synopsis: Heretic among heretics: http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ciencia/ciencia_vallee08.htm
Physicist, computer scientist, author, he has been involved in the UFO subject for probably 50+ years. In an academic environment and also as a defense consultant.
Ever see “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”? Remember there was a French fellow (scientist)who was involved with the interpretation and eventual planning of meeting the extra-terrestrials?
The part in that movie was strongly based on a real person. Jacques Valle.
Thanks for the explanation.
Thanks. I liked Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Art Bell reruns are played on many stations Saturday nights, in case anyone is interested. For people like me, who didn’t start listening until after Bell left, it is a joy to hear the old shows.
He wrote a couple of books about UFOs in the late 60s early 70s
