A West Haven, Connecticut man is under arrest, accused of biting a police dog.
Police tell our affiliate WTNH that officer Scott Bloom was on patrol yesterday with his police dog Onyx when he spotted Roderick Lewis walking near a Rite Aid with his pants falling down.
They say Lewis appeared to be on drugs and approached the officer while yelling at him, then punched the officer in the face.
"He noticed the gentleman Roderick actually bite down on K-9 Onyx's leg, whereas K-9 Onyx actually yelped out and screamed," said the West Haven police department's Bret Schneider.
After police arrested Lewis, he was taken to the hospital. He's charged with assaulting a police officer, disorderly conduct, and cruelty to animals. Officer Bloom and Onyx were both treated for injuries.
Man Bites Dog News
If they put a dog to sleep for biting a man, shouldn’t they put the man to sleep for biting the dog?
I bet PETA would approve.
Does the dog need shots?
By definition.
All I want to know is whether the officer and the dog are all right.
The drugged-out perp? [censored]
Blumenthal voter, no doubt.
