It might not have been the shop. I still can’t understand how one could get a tongue piercing and NOT get infected. The mouth is just so septic and environment.
A 34 year-old actually asked her mom’s permission?

"Silverhand Jewellery said it had followed stringent hygiene procedures." Sure. But the human mouth is anything but hygienic.

A friend of mine has a step daughter who got a tongue piecing for her 21st birthday.
She was all showing it off even as she was healing, with tongue all swollen.
She asked me if I liked it, her speech slurred from the new ornament in her tongue..
I said ***Yeath thaths weally coo!***
Oh was she ticked off!!! LoL!

My wife wanted to get her tongue pierced.
Two days would have greatly exceeded her life expectancy after I saw it...

I don’t get the piercing fad. I figure that I had the right number of holes in me right from the factory.

Those things get in the way of eating.
If I showed up at work with something like that, they would move my office to the basement, or worse, off property.. HR says, its surprising how many show up at job interviews with that stuff.

Pierced ears on a woman are bad enough.
I'd never ask out a woman with a pierced anything else, or whoever had a pierced anything else if I knew about it.
One woman I broke up with in my younger years, I did in part because she insisted she wanted to have her ears pierced.
If that's where her values are, some other guy was welcome to her.
(Indeed, she married some guy, had a few kids, and then divorced.)
