I have communicated with him over the years during his ordeal. He never told me he served with the 498th Dustoff unit (the unit logo on this thread). How I missed this I will never know... for I as well served in that unit. We may have known each other during the war...

Guess he and I will have even more to talk about when we meet once again. I am glad his suffering is over...
