Before he was traded to the Minnesota Vikings, Randy Moss got into a catfight with Tom Brady about, of all things, his facial hair.
According to Charley Casserly of CBS, Brady and Moss had a verbal altercation before the trade and that the pair had to be separated. During the spat, Brady told his receiver to shave his beard. Moss responded that Brady should cut his hair, because he looks like a girl.

As Richard Pryor would say:
“Face like an iodine bottle.”
Perhaps you should do a full frontal combover.
“Moss is a great talent. 3 rings as QB - it is what it is.”
To you, I guess, championships are the ultimate trump card. Which, despite knowing winning is the point of the game, I simply cannot understand. It would be as if kids today, who couldn’t know better, were told that Joe Montana dominated the 80s, and, oh yeah, there was this guy named Dan Marino who was pretty good I guess. Totally revisionist.
As for those “big numbers” you mention in passing, let’s look at Moss’ career:
Most TDs by a rookie in a season: 17
Most TD receptions in a season: 23 (with Brady)
Most seasons 17 or more TD receptions: 3
Most seasons 16 or more TD receptions: 3
Most seasons 11 or more TD receptions: 8
Most seasons 10 or more TD receptions: 9
Most single-season games with 2 or more TD receptions: 8 (with Brady)
Only player with 1,600 receiving yards and 16 receiving TDs in a season
Most 1,200+ yard receiving seasons to start a career: 6
Averaged at least 1 receiving touchdown per game played in 4 different seasons
Averaged 12.3 receiving TDs per season in first 10 seasons
Youngest player in NFL history to record 100 receiving TDs
Youngest player in NFL history to record 120 receiving TDs
Fastest player to reach 5,000 career receiving yards: 59 games
Highest career yards per catch average for any player with 900 or more receptions: 15.6 ypr
4-time All-Pro selection
2nd all-time 1,000 receiving yards seasons: 10
2nd all-time 100 receiving yards games: 64
2nd all-time receiving TDs: 151
3 TD receptions in 3 seperate games (2nd all-time)
2 or more TD receptions in 37 games (2nd all-time)
Has thrown 2 TD passes, returned a punt for a TD, and intercepted a pass while playing defense
Only player to play for the top 2 highest-scoring offenses in the history of the NFL: ‘07 Patriots (with Brady) and ‘98 Vikings
Those aren’t just good numbers. Those are numbers good enough (without pausing to think of his impact in terms of certain intangibles like the “deep threat”) to make him the best receiver in the history of the league behind Jerry Rice.
As for Brady, no matter which way you cut it he falls further behind. Doesn’t stack up to Marino, Favre, or Manning in number of records; close but no cigar to Montana and Bradshaw regarding Superbowl rings.
I actually do a pretty good, “Cousin It,” for the 2nd graders in my youngest Son’s class.
I like your screen name. How are the Pre-Fab Four these days?
I bet you do. Is it scarier before or after the combover?
Heh! Not really a combover.
I just kinda whip my head forward, put my sunglasses over my hair-covered face and mumble, “Mrrm-rrmmrm-mrrm-mrr-mrrrmm.”
Ha ha! You’re funny. We need to see a picture of you like that.
could certainly freeze em in their tracks so to speak
I like Moss -
I think - for you - re-read your list of who you need to compare Brady with to find him not quite up to par - you seem to have him at #6 (even given your rating system) over the last 40 years. Personally - I’ll take Brady over Favre.
This trade is explained by a few things - probably - one or mor eof these -
1. Moss was back to whining
2. Brady could not hit the “Moss 40 yard pass” any more -
3. O Line could not protect Brady for 40 yard Moss pass -
4. Pats can’t beat Jets or Indy (or maybe Miami) with Moss. (See Jets cover Moss tonight - one on one -. Without that PERFECT pass from Favre - no Moss TD.)
5. Did you see Tate return that kick? .... Maybe it is Tate that can’t be covered, now .....
Brady has already texted Moss at Vikings. Class rules.
Moss will be missed - but clearly there was more to this story. 3 rings and counting - to zero.
My bet - based on observation - is something was going on with Moss. There was frustration between the two - either Moss wasn’t getting open, or Brady can’t make the throw.
Did you miss - quickest QB to 100 wins? There I go again - focusing on winning!
