Afghan private security forces with ties to the Taliban, criminal networks and Iranian intelligence have been hired to guard American military bases in Afghanistan, exposing United States soldiers to surprise attack and confounding the fight against insurgents, according to a Senate investigation.

This is no joke. I know a government contractor poised to sign a security contract for their personnel with a Afghan owned “Canadian company”.
Even in the RFP, the corrupt warlord owned “Canadian company” openly admits they ‘foster close relations with tribal leaders including hiring guards they recommend.’
Hmmm...sounds like kickbacks and bribes to me. It gets worse, much worse, and all because the compartmentalization within DOD means many agencies/departments do not have access uniformed personnel for security. Instead, they sub out contracts to shady shell companies who traffic weapons to the Taliban, payoff drug traffickers, and feed the corruption throughout the Karzai regime.
