The three Universal classics: The Mummy, Dracula, Frankenstein. And King Kong.

There have been OTHER horror movies?

Here's some freebies (Public Domain) you can download from Archive.org:

The Ghoul; 1933, Boris Karloff, Cedric Hardwicke.

The House on Haunted Hill; 1959, Vincent Price, Elisha Cook Jr., Richard Long

The Last Man on Earth; 1964, Vincent Price. (The first of three films based on the novel "I Am Legend", and IMO the closest to the book.)

More of a suspense thriller than a horror film, but try “Wait Until Dark” (Audrey Hepburn and Alan Arkin).

But then it is Debbie Harry, so DEFINITELY for grown men!!

Bubba Hotep

Elvis and JFK, both alive and in nursing homes, fight for the souls of their fellow residents as they battle an ancient Egyptian Mummy.

You came to the right place.

If you screen SEA OF DUST, just released starring Tom Savini and Ingrid Pitt, you will have a unique horror experience, beautiful theme music, mind bending script, violence and gore, beautiful women, satire, and a tribute to the feel of the old Hammer films.

I kid you not and it was just released on DVD after winning some film festivals.

I recently found one at Walmart called “Wind Chill”. I found it to be a very good movie. Way above average. IMHO.

This has been on our Netflix list for a while. I keep moving it down, LOL. My husband doesn't understand why I watch movies that freak me out.... I can't explain it, sometimes I just need to have a good scare. But this one worries me that I'll be up for weeks!

>>The only movie that made the hair on my neck stand up in the last ten years was ‘The Ring’. It came out several years ago and is based on a Japanese film. I didn’t know anything about it and ‘dicovered’ it about 2am during a bout of insomnia....<<

Have you ever seen Ringu? The original Japanese version. Holy Poo my Pants!!!! That was TONS scarier than The Ring. In fact, I had to watch it on a computer because we bought it from Japan. I was in the computer room and thought it had ended. I said to my husband, “Well that wasn’t all that scary.”
THEN it continued to the end. I just kept staring at the screen saying, “Oh hell no.”
I didn’t sleep at all that night.

The other one is Ju-on, which means The Grudge. Yikes! There is a particular sound in it, that when you find out what it is, will creep you out for a good long time.

Those horror movies are made for pre-teen girls so there is not blood or gore, just freak you out stuff.

SSSSSSSSS (1973)-Strother Martin, lots of snakes, and a transformation effect from man to snake that still creeps me out!

Happy Birthday to Me (1981)- Canadian horror/slasher flick that keeps you guessing who did it until almost the last 5 minutes! Stars one of the girls from Little House on the Prairie. Boy, did she stray from the farm!

Soul Survivor (1984)- Low Budget psychological thriller that centers around the lone survivor of a plane crash who is being stalked by the dead.
