Dish Network has always been at the bottom of the food chain of cable & satellite providers.

We pay these cable/satellite services for the privelege of having nearly half the shows filled with commercials anyway. Between landline phone service and cable/satellite feels like getting ripped off. If I was unemployed they would be the first of the budget cuts.

It’s a contract dispute. Fox wanted more than Dish was willing to pay.

It will get sorted out. These things always do.

Cablevision is going to cut Fox programming soon too, if certain money issues are not met....

Nooooooooooooooo! Not no Fringe!

At least it isn’t SyFy.

I hate streaming vs D/L & play; my connection is plenty fast enough DSL, but the damned stop-start throtling kill it; never enough buffering.

Not the first time Fox has played hardball with providers, so I expect no interruption on 11/1, but that I will see an increase in my bill.

From the Dish press release:

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - (NASDAQ: DISH) - Oct. 1, 2010 - DISH Network L.L.C. reports today that FOX Networks is blocking DISH Network’s access to 19 FOX Regional Sports Networks and other programming. FOX is demanding a new contract with an unprecedented rate increase of more than 50 percent. FOX’s removal of the channels follows the programmer’s national TV, print and web advertising campaign designed to intimidate DISH Network and its customers into paying the rate increase. FOX has flatly refused DISH Network’s request to allow customers to continue to watch these FOX channels during the negotiations.

These negotiations with FOX do not affect local FOX TV stations, FOX News or FOX Business News.

So it’s a money dispute. How much money will the cable or Dish get if everyone drops them because they dropped Fox?

That would be my first move.

could also lose FOX

Fox-Inc has tried this kind of thing before with some Cable companies.

Fox won't be dropped because of the NFL. The NFL has too much invested in Fox and Fox knows it.

Dish did this last year with ABC. Took them months to restore it.

Dish claims this is because FOX wants too much money. Dish will will lose customers if bills go up and they will lose customers if they drop FOX. The solution to me is to cut out CNN and HLN and use that dough to pay FOX.

Everyone turn off your TV sets. It is all garbage anyway. Turn them off and get back to communicating with your families, and get back to attending church every week as well. God is watching America, and He is not happy. We need to re-find our values. It it time to find our way back home just like the prodigal son.

Damnit.

I missed the season premiere of Sons and the replays so I had to download it (torrent). I had to download every episode so far cause I was behind (I’m that one guy without a DVR). Finally I remember to watch a replay of the last episode and...it’s not on because this is day 1 of FX and Disk Network being a bunch of (vulgar slang for sexual intercourse)ing (vulgar slang for homosexual men). So now I have to download it again and maybe for the rest of the season because of these (vulgar slang for the orifice solid waste comes out of).

BTW GOPster I caught that show ‘The League’ last night, hilarious stuff, you were right.
