They're so tender, I usually have to use two sets of tongs - one at each end, and slide under until they touch - to lift the rack onto a plate, otherwise they fall apart on the grill. Ribs certainly generate stem cells in the marrow...when I donated and they used a drug to stimulate stem cell generation for the procedure, the most active spots ached a bit. Mostly the long bones of the arms and legs, but ribs and even sternum had their moments...

It seems the rib is the only bone in the entire body that is able to regenerate itself if removed correctly....plus it talks about the stem cell connection.
