A new business was opening and one of the owner’s friends wanted to send him flowers for the occasion. They arrived at the new business site and the owner read the card, “Rest in Peace”.

The owner was angry and called the florist to complain.

After he had told the florist of the obvious mistake and how angry he was, the florist replied, “Sir, I’m really sorry for the mistake, but rather than getting angry, you should imagine this: somewhere there is a funeral taking place today, and they have flowers with a note saying, ‘Congratulations on your new location’”

Thank you so very much. Please pray for Sassy as she is very depressed. Things were going so well for Pipes we thought she was in the clear. To lose her so suddenly has the family in shock. Piper was one of a kind. We will miss her so much. ~Pandy~

Thank you very much. I am up feeding them now, while grandma looks on. I am so blessed to have Little Girl adopting them. I still feed them but she is stepping in as mama & licking them etc. ~Pandy~

No, it is not good to have this super cold. My son Jon & Sassy are helping out with feeding. I am wearing a mask. The antibiotics really make me feel ill. I seem to have a reaction to them. At least Pipes has some time with her pups before she passed on.

Thank you so much. We still don't understand what happened. All of a sudden she started to bleed and this is almost 2 wks after the 1st expensive trip to save her. We got some news she was doing fine & then her blood count went to 13 & there was just very little chance she would pull through another surgery. I am half asleep posting but I had to get up & feed the pups. At least the pups have been adopted by her grandma, Little Girl & that saves me work. I am just in shock after all the money we spent & being so sick myself. The vets keep asking is she could have been poisoned but I don't see how. I think all my cats & dogs would be sick & they are fine. I am heartsick over losing Piper.

Emergency Kit

For a dozen years, I took an auto emergency kit on every long driving trip but never had to use it. It became such a familiar item that on the night we really needed it, I forgot it was there. But fortunately my wife remembered.

After hitting a deer on a dark rural highway, our van was completely disabled. While I fumbled with a small flashlight to assess the damage and call a tow truck, my wife opened the emergency kit, set out a reflective warning marker, then turned on the bright flashlight, much to my surprise. Later we talked about how a crisis can cause us to forget the resources we have, just when we need them most.

Paul urged the Ephesians to “put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Eph. 6:11). This protective covering includes truth, righteousness, readiness, faith, salvation, and prayer (vv.14-18). Although these spiritual resources guard us each day, we need to remember them when disaster strikes and the enemy tries to undermine our confidence in God’s love and care.

Use the kit. “Take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (v.13).

When Satan launches his attack,
We must take heart and pray;
If we submit ourselves to God,
He’ll be our strength and stay. —Sper

God provides the armor, but we must put it on.

There is a good chance that our congresscritter, Jim Costa, will be retiring this year. Wish we could retire our Ma'am Senator. :) .. you know she worked so hard for that title.
