NBC and Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller are remaking the 1960s classic sitcom The Munsters, Entertainment Weekly reports.
NBC has ordered a pilot for the project, described as "Modern Family meets True Blood," according to EW. (So, funny and full of unsexy sex scenes?) Director Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy) is also said to be interested in a behind-the-scenes role.

The only TV show I would like to see them remake would be the Untouchables, and the part of Elliot Ness should be played by Thomas Gibson. I love him in Criminal Minds, and he is so serious, just like Robert Stack was in the old TV series.
I just posted the same thing before I read yours. Great minds think alike, I guess.
Like “Pushing Daisies” did so well. More remake BS that will be canceled mid season for Dateline reruns.
I won’t say that cast is irreplaceable, but I will say that I’m having trouble imagining who they’d get, particularly to play Herman, and that it had better not suck.
Believe it not Casablanca or the characters has been twice made as a TV series in 1955 and 1983. They were not remakes of the movie but other stories using the same character and setting. Charles McGraw was Rick in 55 and David Soul without Starsky in 83.
Courtship of Eddies Father-Mrs. Livingston writes a tell all book then is deported?
One Step Beyond-plargarises “Destination truth?”
Not an origanal thought in Follywood any more.. Sickening..
That was actually a good remake, but it was one of the first remakes back in the 80s.. Now that is all they do... They are even remaking Aurthur. How can you remake something with Dudley Moore?
They remade Bedazzled. Didn’t see it though so I have no opinion on it.
That would then be the The Flying None
(Flashback to Vietnam)
Nice touch on the tell -all book. Just what exactly was “Mrs Livengston” doing on the job? She and “Eddie” were quite the pair.
Sadly Mrs Livingston - really Miyoshi Umeki, passed away in 2007 - no TV obits for her. She was a repected actress in her own right on Broadway.
In deed. What I like about the remake was the opening theme. It is awesome!!
Brad Garret (Robert from Everybody Loves Raymond) does a great Herman Munster impression, I hope they cast him.
So uncle fester can show us how to save the planet and reduce our carbon foot print by providing are own electricity. He will also encourage the use of oregano but that is a different thread.
I was pretty excited a few years ago when they annonced the return of Karl Kolchak: The Night Stalker.
Watching the premier episode i could not believe what i was watching and the idiots they casted.
No wonder it only lasted like 3 episodes.
Hollywood SUCKS!
The re-make of Bedazzled was a great movie, With the volume turned off.
Elizabeth Hurley was extremely hot in that flick. : )
10:1 they introduce a loveable queer character.
If anyone can bring a quality & fresh look at the Munsters, it is Fuller.
btw, DEAD LIKE ME's 2 seasons is on DVD and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
The Courtship of Eddie’s Two Fathers, more like it.
The New Untouchables was a very good series. I’ve always been puzzled by how the it’s disappeared from the rerun market. It’s about as far from the reality of the Untouchables as you can get but it was good tv.
>>> Bryan Fuller’s “Dead Like Me” is a masterpiece
Yes and I missed it entirely when it was in production. I only caught some of the episodes in the last year on SyFy.
