And yet, I'll bet they stock hats from teams that haven't won a national championship in decades.
I was at that game. There was a truly obnoxious Auburn fan (redundant I know) right behind me. That game truly hurt.
They are supposed to make a movie about that game. My friend had never told me about it. Someone on this site told me. He has an old football injury so he has an elevator pass at the stadium. He said 4 bowl reps were there to watch Auburn. Guess they must have been special to ride the elevator! That was 2 games ago. We have so much fun together. His wife died several years ago from cancer and hubby died in 06 from liver cancer. Guess God knew what He was doing when He got us together. We are both nuts! We went to the Outback Bowl last year. Met some really nice fans from AU and Northwestern. What a crazy game it was. We ate at The Columbia Restaurant several times. If you are ever there, you have to eat there.
The name of that restaurant I was telling you about is Cecil’s. Do you know where it is? He said we could go there on a Friday before the game on Sat. Would be fun.
No, but we could find it.
Fla. #3.
Thanks.
The fact that Nebraska's wins have come against Western Kentucky (who hasn't won a game since September 2008), Idaho (who has had one winning season since 1999), and South Dakota State (a division I-AA, or whatever they're called now, team), demonstrate how stupid Yahoo Users are.
I like Nebraska and Bo Pelini, but no way they should be ranked higher than a lot of the other major conference undefeateds.
BSU tried to get teams to play them, even offering to forgo the home-and-home that schools often agree to. I’d like to see a rank penalty if a college has an open date on their schedule, is challenged by another team, and chooses not to play.
Virginia Tech and Oregon State have been good teams in recent years, yet if they suck this year, BSU gets penalized. What a system.
Good games this weekend:
Wisconsin vs. Michigan State
Penn State vs. Iowa
Texas vs. Oklahoma
Stanford vs. Oregon
Florida vs. Alabama
This is my fantasy, it will never happen, but this is how I would love to see college football.
I would take a page from how soccer works in Europe. Create divisions of 13 teams, separate them into different divisions, with the best teams in the Top Division. Each team plays the other within the division, 12 games. Then the top 4 teams would enter a playoff to determine the National Champion. The bottom three teams would fall to the next lowest division the next season, and the best three teams from the lower division would be promoted the next season. But imagine if every week you had games like Alabama-Ohio State...Boise State-Florida, TCU-Nebraska.
Of course it would never happen, because the Conferences would never let it happen.
It doesn’t jump out written as ‘UF’, which sounds more like someone gagging right before they lose their lunch than an actual school.
“I prefer this one: Yahoo! User Rankings1.Alabama 2.Ohio State 3.Nebraska 4.Oregon 5.Arkansas”

This was ‘tongue in cheek’ because “MY” team is among the top five as voted on by Yahoo Users...lol
