A woman with 30 tattoos claims she was told to "put a bag over her head" when she went for a job interview.
Hayley O'Neil, 23, - who also has 20 body piercings - says was also advised to "stand behind a wall" when she asked a job centre official what post she could apply for.
She eventually left the Job centre plus centre in Blackburn Lancs in tear without any interviewers lined up after the advisor concluded: "Who would hire you looking like that?"
Miss O'Neil, who got her first tattoo from her mother as an 18th birthday present said: ''I just felt so humiliated. I couldn't believe what this guy was saying.
''I said I could take the the piercings out but they look a lot worse when they are out."
"The guy said: 'on first impressions do you think anyone would hire you?' He said: ' look at it this way if you were to stand behind a wall - or put a paper bag over your face do you think you would have a better chance?'

I fainted in the doctors office one time just looking at someone’s stitches. I just can’t look at piercings without getting queasy.
Then deal with the consequences. The truth isn't always easy to face. I don't like it myself at times. Go work for a tattoo/piercing place, or a record shop, or a bar, or join the circus. Most employers don't want the tribal look to represent their establishments.
Work clothes for this whining, manipulative pig.
There was a time when most people had the common sense to know that if they chose to brand themselves with permanent and visible tattoos (and now piercings) that they were choosing a path outside of mainstream society.
The fact that this girl left the employment office in tears is just ridiculous. She made the stupid choice to disfigure herself. Now, she needs to live with it.
Hell - I'll go to the next continent!
She’d be a better WH spokesfreak for the Obamanation than Gibbs..... bring her to America (illegally of course) and put her in the WH press room. She’ll feel right at home!
bag hell, make it a burka and then 2 bage over that!
Now her own teenage daughter came home with a pierced lip and she freaked out. Actions have consequences...and that karma does rear its ugly head, doesn't it?
She does need to trim her eyebrows a tad and try to smile.
I can sort of understand the tears.
The dominant culture is telling her it’s cool and it’s sexy and it’s great for a young woman to abuse herself that way.
Her own mom started up the piercings!
Then she gets told she has made herself unemployable, and she can’t very well fix it. She’ll have ugly holes and she’d have to go to great lengths to hide the tats, and it will be an ugly place where they were.
She’s been sold a bill of goods, and as usually, the world says, tough ****.
Granted she’s an adult and should know better, etc., but I can understand the tears.
You might have at least drawn a bag over her face, with crayons.
Now I have to wash my eyes.
Thanks. You’re a peach.
Ay, dios mio! I wouldn’t touch it with Laz’s ****.
We also have the right to recoil at her hideousness.
She must be a laugh riot going through the airport metal detectors. It’s possible the TSA agent patting her down could get injured! heh,heh
Sounds like good professional advice.
Did she get the job?
Yeah, maybe you are right.
You have to wonder what kind of job a person like that actually has.
Trim her eyebrows? You’re kidding, right?
The non-eyebrow look in fashion today is very unnatural and odd looking.
