Guns you have shot?
myself

Posted on 09/12/2010 4:53:12 PM PDT by darkside321

I´m living in "Europe" and just wanted to know how many different "guns" the "standart" FReeper has shot in his/her life. And if the gap between "europe" and the USA on guns is really this big.

For me: Glock-19, P80 (glock 17 just called different in the military), HK USP .45 CAL (thanks to the stupid two handguns only ban here :-( Steyr AUG. Steyr AUG A2 Commando (God i miss this "baby" best rifle i ever had in my hands). The m-16 ("traded" for my AUG in Kosovo on the shooting range when we met some US soldiers :-) AK 47,of course "my" 12,7 (cal.50 M2 variant). Benelli M3 shotgun. And a lot of different .22 lr rifles ;-)

That information is classified. Ask the New York Times.

Does the main gun on an M-1 Abrams Main Battle tank count?

In my life it would literally be in the hundreds tho in the last 10 years I probably have fired only 9 or 10 different ones.

Guns I have shot in my life were tragically lost at sea. Tragic I tell you.

How large a cammo net is necessary before a CCW covers that?

Lol it’ll be a lot easier to ask what guns we haven’t shot!

One of the more fun things about USMC recruit/infantry training in '66 was the "fam firing" of tons of stuff....45 cal submachine guns, truck-mounted 50 cal machine gun (complete with tracers), flamethrowers and stuff.

The rest of my tour sucked, but that was all great fun.

About the same as you except maybe a few more revolvers. Shot the HK .45, Benelli, and MP-5 at Quantico.

Darn, I was on KP the day the company shot the 3.5 rocket launcher. The M60 was a smoker, too much oil. M16 was a let down. M14 was quite good. 45 auto military was worn out and I got three rounds out of 15 in a 3 foot ring at 15 yards. 50BMG target is a hoot. Barrett semi auto is fun.

Oh, and my dads MAC-10 with a silencer as a kid. But we won’t talk about that.

I remember the ones that brought tears to my eyes, one shot. 2 oz 12 gauge turkey loads. 458 Win Mag. 416 Rigby (with a PAST recoil pad, it still rattled my teeth and gave me a headache, offhand. Glad I didn't try it off the bench). 375 H&H. 300 Win Mag with a hard plastic butt plate. Ow, ow, ow.

Last year I was out at the gravel pit, and up shows this guy with an Armalite bolt rifle in 50 BMG. He offered to let me shoot it. 30+ lbs with an excellent muzzle brake. And I passed.

Friggin' recoil wimp. If I see him out there again, I'll go for it. How bad can it be? Make my shoulder hurt for a few weeks. So what? (I keep telling myself).
