Science fiction has been a television staple for the past 60 years. And of the thousands of episodes that have been produced in that time, we've chosen 10 of the most memorable, transcendent hours of sci-fi TV -- the best the genre has to offer. As always, your mileage may vary, but if you wanted to show an alien civilization how we feel about our own tomorrow -- as well as how we view ourselves today -- these episodes are a good place to start.

I actually agree with a lot of these. The Dr. Who episode was brilliantly done.

Good list. I would have included the Doctor Who episode “City of Death” though and something from Night Gallery.

“Demon with a Glass Hand” has some plot holes that have never been explained to me. First of all, why is Consuela all alone? I thought the ending result (trying not to spoil it) did not make a lot sense either (the so called problem).

This isn't subjective at all. sarc. I can think of several missing, ie, The Twilight Zone with Bill Shatner, etc.

Agreed, Just talking about that episode with the wife, excellent!

“Home” was by no means the best episode of the X-Files. “The Unnatural” and “Travelers” were much better.

I always thought the original “Outer Limits” was much better than “Twilight Zone”. Especially the “Sixth Finger” and “The Zanti Misfits”.

I'll agree with Eye Of The Beholder, The Demon With A Glass Hand, Blink and Out Of Gas. I would also include Twilight Zone's The Invaders, The Obsolete Man and Doctor Who's The Girl In The Fireplace.

The idiots with Doctor Smith. They couldn’t change their clothes for years. Will was smarter than the whole family, but he did meet every alien that looked like snakehead or the troll on the front line. (she got fired)

No Babylon 5, no Stargate SG-1. Not a bad list, but there are several episodes of either B5 or SG1 that could easily be listed above either the Lost or the Buffy episodes.

The Star Trek episode with Susan Oliver and Jeffrey Hunter stands out as the most memorable one to me. Twighlight Zone To Serve Man, and the Anne Francis episode in the Dept Store. Then again, I always had this thing for her. Agree this list is too short.

Don’t forget the “howling man” from the ‘zone. And “Home’ is a good pick, it’s based on ‘home’ Pa. I knew some folks who delivered phonebooks to Home as a college job, they said it was pretty scary.
