A plane just crashed near SFO in San Bruno, CA. Prayers to all affected.
So, will they be able to shut off the gas and then get the fire under control that way? I feel so bad for the people who have lost their homes and their stuff.

And I guess there are lots of gas pipelines all over. Not something I want to think about!
At once Fox comes back to it they will have GIANT graphic blocking the bottom of the picture and all you will see is sky, not what their cameraman is shooting at. Foxnews TV tech people are the worst.
Channel 7 had a person on that said he SAW a plane go down. I also sourced www.firedispatch.com for San Mateo County that stated an AIRCRAFT CRASH with over 15 fire responders.

Oh, and I could see the smoke from over 10 miles to the south.
I lost all my weapons in a meteor smackdown. Melted all of them. Never had a boating accident though. Go figure.

It’s gonna take a few days for the area to cool and have debris cleared.. as pipes go, that isn’t huge but when the pressure is on.. it can cause a lot of damage...

If the line ruptures, the sound of gas escaping from the pipe under pressure can be pretty loud - definitely noticeable. If there's some sort of ignition source, then you get the boom.
Since FAA and SFO claim no commercial or private aircraft are missing, and witnesses claim to have heard what sounded like an aircraft, this could have been a fighter jet (whose?) or some other military craft....
Planes go down a lot more often than big gas explosions, so it’s certainly good speculation that it was one.
