Shirley Phelps-Roper calls out Florida preacher for plans to burn Quran ... 'cause she did it first
By Justin Kendall, Thu., Sep. 9 2010 @ 2:00PM
Terry Jones has angered the Westboro Baptist Church....
Shirley Phelps-Roper is reportedly calling Jones a poseur. Fred Phelps' daughter told the Star that Westboro's was burning the Islamic religious text on a Washington, D.C., street back in 2008. "We did it a long time before this guy," Phelps-Roper told the Star...
"They'll browbeat him and he'll back down at the last minute," she said. "He's an apologist. He doesn't serve God."

Way to alinsky, you have it down pretty well. At least as good as the libs in my office.
It's the muzzies making too big a deal out of this. That and lib's.
Their (muzzies) hypocrisy is on full display; as well as chickenshit's in this country.
Your falling to PC crap. Wanna do this right? Let's take it in front of the SCOTUS like other cases surrounding these auspices have.
Ooops..that won't work out to well in psuedo-Conservative land, will it?
I have a hard time believing that all of the pro-Terry Jones/Fred Phelps talk is because people are suddenly standing up for the First Amendment.
In the last so many years we have had “Piss Christ,” Snead O’Connor tearing up a picture of the Pope on TV, Yoko Ono ripping a Bible in half on stage and Seinfeld’s Larry David pissing on the Bible.
I would like to see how many people around here chose to vehemently defend the First Amendment rights of those people in the same way they do the two “preachers.”
No, Shirley, he's just a publicity whore, like you and your sorry Dad.
Shirley! Shut up you fugly old hag.
I may criticize what these people do as is my right, but I would never express the view that they don’t have the right to freely express themselves.
And I don’t like it when people half way around the world suggest we do just that.
You're projecting your own shallow loyalty.
I just wonder what some would do if the Code Pinkers started burning Korans.
I am curious.
Did the Jones/Phelps supporters here also support Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s First Amendment rights two years ago?
Remember him?? ... “It’s not God Bless America. It should be God Damn America!”
Were there long inflammatory posts against people who were denouncing Wright and defending his right to say what ever he pleased? Were people planning “chicken come home to roost” barbecues in their back yard in support of him?
Zounds, you are one bad a$$. You’re gonna roast in hell for sure. No virgins for you, fella.
Nice straw man. You can't name any Jones/Phelps supporters or show any posts indicating that they are.
Were there long inflammatory posts against people who were denouncing Wright and defending his right to say what ever he pleased?
Definitely a straw man. I don't recall a single post calling for them to be silenced by government force. None asking the President to assemble a united front consisting of a top general, a State Dept. official, the Attorney General, the Sec. of Defense and the WH spokesman to condemn those people.
Were people planning chicken come home to roost barbecues in their back yard in support of him?
I don't see the moral equivalence between Rev. Wright and terrorists. That may be why you didn't hear of anyone doing that. You are the only one I know of who has made that comparison.
Phelps is jealous of Jones because he has a megachurch... lol
lol
Jones must have more nieces, nephews and grandchildren to fill the pews than does Phelps.
“Gotta be fruitful and multiply...”
Get over yourself.
No, we’re just separating the intelligent, thoughtful conservatives from the frothing at the mouth bandwagoneers.
The moral equivalence is between Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Code Pink, Terry Jones, Fred Phelps and any other anti-America flag stomping soldier hating protesters who want to see US service members die and/or believe that God should damn America.
How many conservatives were this supportive of Rev. Wright in 2008? Or Bill Ayers? Or Code Pink?
But that wasn't the comparison you made before so your response is rather meaningless.
I’m sure this is going to hurt Terry’s feelings, after all he did support the westboro baptist loons.
Freegards
I was the one who posted the first thread that linked Jones and Phelps, the one that showed Jones’ “Letter of Support of Westboro,” complete with pictures of him protesting with them. Terry Jones was in one picture with a person who was holding a sign, “Thank God Vicki Is Dead.” I don’t know if Vicki was a soldier or not. To me it makes very little difference.
I had hundred of replies to that post and was pinged on countless others from many, many different threads.
I was shocked at the many responses such as: “He is a patriot” “He is risking his life for the First Amendment” “He is fighting for our way of life” “I will be in my back yard burning a Koran but I will be with him in spirit” etc.
I am not looking all of those posts to prove a point to you. You can go search the Burn the Koran threads and read them yourself.
And I do respect the First Amendment. You can support whichever anti-American protester you choose.
This sort of baseless accusation seems to characterize your posting.
Just for you I looked up just a couple of posts from people here who supported Jones, even after knowing of Jones’ public support of Phelps and Westboro Baptist Church, even after knowing they marched together:
