You have to register to vote. What’s the tally?
992 votes
77% say he can do as he pleases off the field.
75% in favor of him speaking
Who ???
You have to register to post a comment, but not to vote on the poll.
“Yes” for him to speak in acceptance of an award. “No” for him to speak without having been given an award.
Is he the one who has been active on behalf of special needs children?
77% vote yes.
I was listening to ESPN radio the other day and two jock sniffers (sportswriters) were going on about LaRussa and Pujols attending the rally and they were not kind, pretty much calling LaRussa insane and Pujols ignorant of the meaning of the gathering.
The fact is that he didn’t really speak. He was there to receive an award, and said a few words of thanks.
Who is Albert Pujols?
[slapping forehead]
Albert Pujols is an obscure first baseman for the Cardinals. Ten years into his career, he has won 3 MVP’s, Gold Gloves, 9 All Star games, the Roberto Clemente Award and re-written a handful of categories in the record books.
He is the only player in history to go his first 10 seasons batting over .300, hitting over 30 home runs, and scoring over 100 rbi’s per season. He reached the 400 hr mark in the fewest games in history.
The father of a Downs Syndrome daughter, he and his wife started the Albert Pujols Foundation, dedicated to caring for the needs of Downs Syndrome children.
Glenn Beck gave him the Hope award; all he did was accept it and say thanks.
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
You make a very good point.
OTOH, there is a bit of a difference between speaking at an event, and creating gratuitous press events to pontificate, or even worse, using an entertainment appearance to insert political monologues unrelated to the performance and venue.
No, I can tell people what to do, and Obama will force them to do it.

I understand completely. I just try to think from both sides to give some fairness to my reasoning.
