Why are stories about Lucas Daniel Smith being yanked?
The Post & Email | 9/7/2010 | surfer

Why do these articles keep getting banned and deleted on FR?

I don't understand how this breaks any of the rules here...have our moderators been inflitrated with Progressives, Marxists?

Is FR seeing its final days?

Ah, yes, the rare and exotic plantain. I’m sure the fabulous Inspector has a few rotting samples squirreled away with his receipts.

If Smith does get his Congressional hearing I doubt it would happen until after November for sure. I will be looking forward to seeing several great conservatives from Florida in Congress, including Alen West! If there is a truth finder and a truth stater, it is Allen! :)

Then what are you afraid of if he is all that? You can sit back and be your smug self in the confidence that it will all blow up on Smith that it is all a con.

You'll give Smith all your jazz but I notice how you guys give Obama a pass on his stonewalling and deceptiveness. He just can't come out and prove that he is eligible for office. You guys don't give it a second thought.

“You’ll notice the critics here are afraid that Smith may get his Congressional hearing to present his evidence.”

Actually, we're openly laughing at him and simply incredulous that any grown adult would take him seriously. I'll drop a thousand hundred bucks into a Freepathon the day Smith gets his Congressional hearing, which will be shortly after they're making snow angels in hell.

It’s only a matter of time before Obama and his administration is totally discredited.

Honestly, people, Smith is a common criminal. He is a lazy, incompetent, dishonest predator of the kind conservatives with any sense of ethics rightly hold in contempt.

Not only that, but the sheer scope of Smith's past con-artistry is rarely delineated.

We've all heard about his attempt to con a desperate family into paying for a donated kidney.

He made up a story about his house being visited by the Virgin Mary, and then attempted to sell the house online.

He also made up a story about his house being haunted by ghosts, and he made up references to fake news stories about it.

He supposedly wrote a book, that no one's ever seen or read, and when he created a Wikipedia page about it, he made up and included references to fake court cases and fake news articles to promote it.

He claims to have hunted a mythical African dinosaur monster.

He's a convicted felon who's served a not-insignificant time in prison. His various criminal offenses include forgery, and passing bad checks on a bank account opened with false information. Y'know, fraud-related offenses.

Don't forget that his first appearance on the Birther scene was his multiple attempts to anonymously sell the unseen birth certificate on eBay. And he's confirmed that he only has the one original copy, so anyone who thinks he's a patriot out to do the right thing has to conveniently gloss over his attempts to auction the document.

And one of the "HEROES" he names on his YouTube page is a pseudoscientist con-man.

Everything about the guy's history absolutely screams "fraud." There's virtually nothing he's done in his life that isn't tainted with lies, fraud, and fabrications. Like you say, any honest conservative would do just what FR has done, and dismiss his con-artistry for what it is. But some Birthers choose to look past all that, for no other reason than because they just want to believe him.

He hasn't gone into much detail about his supposed hunt in the Congo for the Mokele-mbembe. Probably because it never actually happened, is my guess. I'm not saying it's impossible, but he's never produced a shred of anything substantiating the story, as it seems to exist only for the purpose of establishing a backstory for why he was in Africa for his birth certificate story.

But he's spoken about in general terms on several occasions. Including on the hundreds of letters he sent to Congressmen. Because, y'know, nothing wins the attention of a busy Congressman more than a letter from a non-constituent who starts off by talking about his mythical African dinosaur hunt.

Accepted. I just don’t want to be taken out of context or misquoted on what appears to be a very hot issue here on FR. Thank you.

TOC says he “... never voted Democratic in my life.”

How many real conservatives would use that term? Democrats vote for Democrats, not Democratics.

It is called the Democratic ticket, you know. As opposed to, say, the Republican ticket.

So is poor grammar now also a hallmark of the “real conservative?”

If someone disagrees, fine. But why REPEATEDLY search out those threads in order to fight with someone you disagree with? That's called trolling. And it is spiteful behavior.

Actually, it's not fine if someone disagrees with a birther. Those who disagree are always accused of being trolls and Obama shills.

I used to be a birther. I used to be on the ping list and commented on the threads that summer. Then three things took place.

- Orly Taitz came on the scene. She misrepresented every hearing she had in front of a judge and would make bold promises that she'd have Obama out of office in 30 days or that she had been granted discovery when she clearly hadn't or that Chief Justice Roberts personally promised to review her documents when he said no such thing. At first I couldn't tell if she was lying or if there was a serious language barrier causing her to misunderstand the rulings. Gradually, her behavior became ever more unhinged. I came to the conclusion that she was incompetent in the law and was more interested in being the center of attention than filing a competent brief and accepting legal help from the multitude of competent attorneys who offered it to her. She was all about Orly Taitz not about removing Obama. I started calling attention to her game on eligibility threads. My fellow birthers were furious and lashed out at me.

- I noticed that some of us were perpetuating false rumors that had been clearly and unequivocally debunked. I attempted to politely correct the errors. My fellow birthers didn't receive the corrected information well. They lashed out me and started suggesting via freepmail to others that I "might be a troll or a double agent."

- I had several productive, polite conversations with Non-Sequitur, mlo, and Lurking Libertarian. The first of which was regarding the significance, or lack thereof, of the phrase "Distributed for conference" on the docket sheets of eligibility cases at SCOTUS. Fellow birthers privately freepmailed me to tell me not to feed the trolls and to stop engaging in such discussions. When I responded that I was interested in the truth and didn't care with whom I discussed it, that was the final straw. LucyT, who had defended me to those who suggested that I was a troll or double agent, turned on me, accused me, and kicked me off the ping list.

At that point, things became nasty. I was attacked with unprecedented hatred and vitriol by the birthers. It was open season. The problem was that I was still interested in the subject matter but wasn't welcome on the threads. The only freepers who would discuss the subject with me were the ones the birthers labeled trolls.

So, I started my own ping list. I continued correcting errant and false information. I continued calling attention to Orly Taitz's freak show circus. I continued discussing the law with "trolls." And the birthers? They became more and more viscious toward the trolls and me.

The history you gave of the summer of 2008 isn't what actually happened. It may be the way you remember it now, but it isn't what happened or how. It wasn't that the trolls got out of hand and launched hateful, personal attacks on the birthers. It was the other way around, FRiend. Some birthers were so despicable they attacked my personal relationship with and faith in Jesus Christ. I lived it, up close and personal.

You say I'm the reason that you don't visit the threads very often anymore. But I didn't and don't start the personal attacks. I doubt there are any instances where an anti-birther hatefully attacked a birther's patriotism, loyalty to the conservative cause, military service, or faith in Christ. Those are birther tactics. And those tactics, FRiend, are what is spiteful.

Birthers are always the first to become unhinged on a thread when those whom they dislike are simply trying to have a reasonable discussion of the facts and subject matter. Yet they project that behavior on us just as liberals do to conservatives. On his infamous thread, Lucas Smith was a perfect example of unhinged, paranoid birther behavior. Review this thread for another example. You'll find that birthers always the first to make it personal.

No, but kool-aid drinking and blind faith in your savior Barry is a hallmark of voting (what did YOU call it?) Democratic.
