A nine-year-old boy didn't know he was allergic to bees, but his 18-week-old dog could sense this. When the boy was attacked by a swarm of bees, it was the pup that took charge and saved the boy from a possible severe reaction.
Richie didn't know he was allergic to bees until he was stung on his feet while outside playing with his puppy Pinky. The pup seemed to have a sixth sense and knew that Richie not only had an allergy, but he also had a blood condition that didn't allow his blood to clot properly. Both these issues could have led to a very devastating situation, it was all avoided because of Pinky's brave actions.
While Richie ran home after being bit, Pinky diverted the swarm's attention and ran off with the bees following close behind. Richie got home safely, but Pinky was stung close to 40 times. The boy and the pup were taken to the hospital and are now doing well.
There is also a link to a CNN video about this story at the article link -- showing both the boy and the dog. They are cute!
Dogs are wonderful. I pity a person and people which doesn’t appreciate dogs.
I am not making fun of the situation, but the way it’s written it’s as though Dr. Dog says “Richie not only has an allergy, but he also has a blood condition that doesn’t allow his blood to clot properly, so I had better take action.”
And they are much more perceptive and smarter than many people realize.
Ohhhhkayyyyyy.........
"Bit" by what?
There are also “tumor sniffing dogs” who can find cancer when other more “conventional” methods fail.
Their incredible sense of smell is probably the reason why they are so successful.
Minute changes in the chemistry of their owners, unnoticed by humans would stand out like red flags of alarm, to them.
Lassie!
I think this article may have been written by a Dell computer tech in New Delhi.
“Dogs are wonderful. I pity a person and people which doesnt appreciate dogs.”
The muzz hate dogs. Kind of says all you need to know about the muzz right there.
How do we know that the bees just didn’t feel like chasing Pinky instead? Poor pup. Maybe God should get some credit for the bees choosing the dog over the boy with allergies?
I did have them in mind.
The more I get to know some people, the better I like my dawg.
Good dog!!
Someone once said that when he prays he asks God: “Please help me to be the person my dog thinks I am!”
That, of course, is true, but knowing the medical details as to the why of the danger to the dog owner is a bit beyond the pale. I doubt if a dog can understand the concept of an allergy or hemophilia. They sense danger and they respond.
