The identity of The Stig, the always-anonymous test driver on the popular television show "Top Gear," has long been a closely guarded secret. On Wednesday, lawyers said the BBC had been refused an injunction blocking publication of a book revealing the identity of the character.

Suing for the right to publish the name of The Stig. Again, HarperCollins' lawyers are part of the 99% that give the other 1% of the lawyers a bad name.

Some say The Stig has the breath of a buzzard.

Gee, and here all this time I thought The Stig’s identity was secret because they really used several “Stigs.”

The Stig 3.0 might profit by this example and go to lengths to keep his ID hidden - who will remember Collins’ name a year from now, or his book? Who remembers Perry McCarthy, the first Stig?

So that whole show where Shumacher comes marching down from the back into the audience and proclaims himself to be The Stig, was phony?

It’s likely that Schumie WAS The Stig at a couple points. However, The Stig is The Stig, no matter WHO they have under the white helmet.

Michael Schumacher did come out as one of the Stigs unless it was a joke.

The other thing could be that Schumacher was a guest Stig. He came out when Bugatti finally let them test the Veyron on their track. Just for the sake of not destroying a 1.5 million dollar car, they had to agree to have someone Bugatti trusted drive it.

And they then let James May drive the 2.4 miilion dollar Bugatti Veyron Super Sport?

Greatest TG I’ve ever seen was that beautiful Veyron zooming around that track, and I’ve seen lots of Ferarris, Porsches, Lambos, Aston-Martins and Maseratis on that show, but, oh my, that Veyro was SWEET!

2nd best show was when Schumacher drover his special Enzo around the track...

Actually I think BBC sued to block publication. I wonder if Top Gear will get a new Stig (which they did last time he got found out) or just pretend the book never happened.
