Using your analysis, it follows that since cities, counties and states use building codes, that engineers and architects are de facto components of our government.
I think in reality, all of the professions mentioned as often fight the government, as conform easily to it.
I do understand and am sympathetic with the point you made.
I DO believe as Reagan said, the government is the problem, not the solution.
I am of the opinion we could completely eliminate the federal Department of Education without a loss of anything, except career paper pushing government overpaid over pensioned advance degreed idiots.
However I would join a reasonable majority supporting health and safety codes that are realistic for safe drinking water, earthquake survivability, etc.
I understand where some of you are coming from. When I talk about Sharia law regarding Muslims, I think of it in the same way that Mormons are required to Tithe, or clubs will not let you in without the secret handshake.
