A WOMAN has been charged after her pet Rottweilers attacked and mauled a 10-year-old girl while she was riding her bike.
"One started biting her arms while the other went for her legs," said Kidds grandmother ..."When I got to her I didn't know what to do. I just kept repeating to the dogs 'be good, be good.'"

Evil dogs alert.
Unarmed victim alert.
Good Lord, “be good.”
And stupid owner alert. (Because she had a dog she couldn’t handle, not because she owns a pit bull). Be good?!
Freeudian monsters gone amok.
This is an interesting story. Rottweilers have a reputation of being aggressive dogs, but I’ve heard others say they only are if you train them to be that way. My guess is the truth lies somewhere between the two.
My wife has always said she wanted one, so I’d like to figure that out ahead of time. Any dog experts want to weigh in?
As with any dog, pedigree and training determine a dog’s behavior.
It’s not the breed as much as it is the parents. A good breeder will mate docile, well-balanced Rotties.
Bad breeders/mills don’t care, so they are more likely to mate aggressive dogs.
And then there is the matter of how the dogs are raised.
In my experience, Rotties make excellent pets.
Had one Rotty. Died of heart problems at two. Very sad. Good doggie, though.
Ran into a guy with a 120 lb. male...one of those people that wants you to think he's tough 'cause his dog is. He was getting mad at his dog because was being so nice to me.

I know. What a witless idiot.
2) Multiple dogs of aggressive breed running loose without supervision. CHECK.
3) Owner under a mistaken impression of the sweetness of her dogs. ???
4) Previous incidences of these dogs running loose or being aggressive. ????
2 out of 4. Probably 4 for 4.
I’ve had Rotties for years, along with German Shephards, they live together well, with proper handling. Most of our rotties have been rescues. I find them great dogs with more sense than a lot of people, therein lies the problem, they can be smarter than their owners, and that’s when trouble occurs. Would suggest contacting a local professional dog trainer if you have one in your area, maybe they can hook you up with a reputable rottie breeder or owner who will work with you and you can spend some time with rotties before you buy, to see if they are the dog breed for you. Good luck!
99-76 = 23. 2+3 = 5.
9+9 = 18. 7+6 = 13. 18-13 = 5.
Has your wife specifed exactly "why" she wants one?
Doggie Ping to #6. FReeper cartervt2k looking for info on Rotties :-)
Rottis are not an aggressive breed!
As with any breed, potentially dangerous behavior in Rottweilers usually results from irresponsible ownership, abuse, neglect, or lack of socialization and training.
I own 2 Rottweilers and they are very intelligent, good-natured, very devoted and obedient.
They are a powerful breed so obedience training and socialization are musts!!
LOL!

Both of you watch this a couple of times and ask yourselves if you’re willing to do what they say in here...
If I had my way....I’d get one. But I DO have 2 GSD’s...heck, I’d go for broke and get a pit too....just cuz.
I’m NOT that insane as to have that many powerful dogs at one time. ;) :)
You seem obviously to be at least 1 for 4 of the four main events leading up to a severe mauling.
1- a large aggressive breed of dog capable of easily inflicting severe injury.
2- running loose, usually >1.
3- unrealistic appraisal by owner of dogs capacity for and likelihood of violence.
4- repeated events of dog(s) running loose and being aggressive.
