Good evening!
In another discouraging and revolting development, the 0 administration has submitted a report to the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights detailing this country's supposed failings and lapses. Maybe a few elements of progress were reported as well but that's not likely the focus of this unprecedented report.
Oh no, for this administration, the U.S. must be brought down to the level of all the other tormentors & barbarians in the world. It's our history, you know....
It truly takes demented minds to draw these moral equivalencies.
I love reading but since returning to Ohio, I have not done too well. I am so busy here there is not much luxury time to just sit & read all day.. but I do make an effort to read a chapter or two a day. Normally in PM after my back is shot for day. Take a glass of wine & dogs way to the back of property before it drops off into the Cuyahoga Valley. Have Toby tied up (sorry) and Josy runs free. Sit & read & throw sticks down the ravine so Josy runs off some energy.
Sometimes I read for just 20 minutes & sometimes til it is so dark I cant see any longer & maybe for 2 hours,
I do primarily political, religious. Novels are usually not part of the mix unless it is an historical novel. Two summers ago I read Gone with Wind & Scarlett. Those two books took all summer. I kept renewing GWTW from the library. Found Scarlett an enjoyable book
I watch next to no TV. Only series was 24 & V. I do watch pro sports. Next to NO news on any network/channel. Mom’s Direct TV is on 24/7.
Good morning! Crazy day today. First off our youngest daughter called us and was screaming into the phone. it took a while for me to understand that there had been a “flood” and “water was standing in the house.” Turns out a pipe or something had a leak behind the washing maching overnight and water flooded portions of the downstairs. So, we got her to shut off water to the house. She had to break a window in the basement door to do that. That will be fixed first!
Then, she emailed her profs and explained why she won’t be in classes this AM. Next, she began cleaning up the mess.
We’ll be home in about two hours and will take over from there. See, we’ve been up in H’ville all weekend.
Then. Our host, who is an IT geek, had trouble with his home system and I couldn’t get onto his system for internet. Couldn’t find the dongle to connect to my phone system either. So, I had my phone to get to the ‘net.
The phone only shows one page at a time.
Our car is being finicky these days and so we had to convince it that it really needs to go and get us back to Auburn.
At present everything is working. Except the electric outlet in the car which is used to power the laptop. I’m using the battery now.
It is sprinkling rain here and that is a good thing. We’re just having to travel in the rain.
It's sound like you are having a November Buster in August.
Travel safely.
In B’ham now. Still raining.
I have this thing of collecting books for inmates and ssk for soft cover books, they give me both, soft and hard cover books, I read them and now am going to take them to a section in the church lobby for folks to just take home and read, when finished, put them back on the shelf so others may get them. I really need to take a trip to Parchman, state pen in MS and get some books up there, local jails are fine, they read, tear them up, replace with different books and keep going on.
A GOOD PROJECT FOR ALL TO DO IN YOUR CHURCH!! IT WORKS!!
Toby
Did you see the article in the weekend WSJ "Money & Investing " section: Spreading Hayek, Spurning Keynes...about a prof at George Mason University "emerging as the intellectual standard bearer for the Austrian school of economics that opposes government intervention...." and so forth...?
Highly recommend tracking it down.

Is this for real??? The sloaping chair, looks like a birthing chair.
To me, it looks like Early Africa. LOL!
It’s good to be home. Sort of.
I've been thinking on and off all day about 0's "birth certificate stuck on his forehead" comment...it's so typically argumentative and falsely so, at that. This guy is just so contemptible.
Also I heard that the NRA has withdrawn its endorsement of Harry Reid. Why it gave it to him in the first place is a cosmic mystery...
I was working outside, but a paving crew arrived around the corner to redo the street nearby, &t got so noisy that I retreated indoors.
But the street really, really needed it...
Rave,
I clicked on that article not quite knowing what to expect. I HAVE BEEN TO YANIRUMA AND I HAVE TALKED WITH SOME KOROWAI.
I am now avidly reading page 2. Comments will follow tonight.
Dems and the MSM only want to remember Katrina - they think it hurts Republicans. Let’s see what they do when 9/11 comes by - my guess is they’ll interview Muslims who feel put upon...
There are some tribal customs that are just plain wrong. It is one thing to demand 12 cowrie necklaces 3 pigs for a bride. I don’t object or seek to change that one. Cannibalism has to end.
Thanks for posting it.
Regarding the NRA...sometimes I think they have as many bone-headed decision makers as the RNC does. I’m betting they heard from their membership and were smart enough to take heed. Unlike the RNC, in many instances.
You are correct.
Braised pork chops in soy sauce
Corn pudding
cauliflower in a cheese sauce
Yum.
Did you make the corn pudding yourself? I’d love to try that.
Hmmm. I saw it but didn’t read. I’ll take a gander now
