AGW Dogmatist Mind Games
None | August 18th, 2010 | Me

There's no way the AGW hoax could have gone on for so long unless its shills, etc. had use of some potent mind games. I'm starting this as a kind of voter-protection thread, to help figure out how they pulled the wool over so many eyes and how to spot the next attempt much earlier.

Let me start with this one: "deniers." It means skeptics, or doubters. The users of it managed to outrage normally gentle skeptics - in the sense of outraged innocence - which confused people who use emotionality to tell who the dogmatist is.

From that ploy, I learned an important lesson: any group of people who slur skeptics for being skeptics are dogmatists. Emotionality is a side issue; there is such a thing as a calm fanatic. This lesson, I'll wind up taking to my grave.

Another one that induces outraged innocence: the 'pay of the oil companies' slur. The AGW dogmatists never, ever admitted to being mistaken when it was found that a skeptic had not recieved any such funding. The mind game here is the same as the one above: making doubt seem evil or disreputable. To repeat: someone who think a doubter is a wretch, is a dogmatist.

What does “AGW” mean? Anti George W? Anti George Washington? Aw gee whiz?

When you write something, if you want a wider readership, please consider there are those that will not know what you’re talking about if you use insider language.

Your post might be interesting, at least it’s brought me to the point of asking what you’re talking about. Could you please be clearer?

Next I had to look up dogma:

1. A doctrine or a corpus of doctrines relating to matters such as morality and faith, set forth in an authoritative manner by a church.
2. An authoritative principle, belief, or statement of ideas or opinion, especially one considered to be absolutely true. See Synonyms at doctrine.
3. A principle or belief or a group of them.
