BREWSTER, Mass.- A Massachusetts man said doctors who initially believed him to be suffering from a tumor instead found a pea sprouting in his windpipe.
Ron Sveden, 75, of Brewster, said Cape Cod Hospital doctors used an X-ray to find a spot on his windpipe that they initially believed to be a cancerous tumor, the Boston Herald reported Thursday.
"My blood pressure was very low. My oxygen count was very low. I was dehydrated, my left lung collapsed, and I had pneumonia," Sveden said.
"Prior to Memorial Day I was going downhill," Sveden said. "My appetite went away and I was coughing a lot. I just had this listless feeling where I just wanted to lie down. I had no ambition to do anything."
However, Sveden said doctors performed tests and discovered the mass was not a tumor, but a pea sprouting inside him.
Sveden said his health improved once the plant was removed.
"Thankfully it's all over," he said.
"Now I'm just waiting for a call from the Jolly Green Giant," Sveden joked.

This is just too funny. I’m sorry for the man, but it’s funny.

And they say the raw food diet is good for you! Never would have happened with a cooked pea.

When I was in high school, a friend of mine made a joke at lunch time while I was eating. I laughed so hard I got a pear chunk stuck behind/above my soft palate and had to blow it out my nose.

I reckon it’s the closest I’ll ever come to knowing what it feels like to give birth.

There was an article a few years back about a man that had the most incredible bad breath ... we’re talking for DECADES ... nothing helped... they finally put a scope in his chest and found a single pine needle lodged in a lung ,, still green 20+ years later ... causing the whole problem .. The man remembered being pushed into a Christmas tree as a boy...

Glad this guy wasn’t eating watermelon.
Didn’t it say yesterday the pea was in his lung?
