I love living in the United States and love political debates!

We had an important senate election here and I proudly chose Scott Brown for senate because Martha Coakley was totally clueless and incompetent.

I looked at both candidates for president carefully. John McCain is a true military hero and even worked across the aisle on McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman and McCain-Kennedy. Thry were three very good bills. However, McCain is anti-choice, anti-gay and too pro-gun.

Barack Obama was short on experience, but I liked his postions on many issues except for the middle east and he's not agressive enough on the war on terror.

I chose President Obama at the end and while he's far from perfect, I'm pleased with my choice.

I love politics and can't wait to get into it! :-) I'm new so be nice while I get used to this site!

The stimulus has been a huge help here in Boston.

The chart above is from the Obama administration's numbers.

The "stimulus" is a complete failure.
- It has been entirely ineffective in its intended goal, as the chart shows.
- The money taken from taxpayers for pet projects is no longer available for spending in what would otherwise be a post-recession period. Thus, the stimulus only lengthens the period of the recession.
- An anecdotal note: my brother in law (construction engineer in upstate New York and a JFK-type democrat) notes that NO new construction jobs were created by the stimulus money. Projects that had beeen planned prior to the stimulus spending, were paid for with stimulus money. Money that had been allocated for those projects were then shifted over to other non-construction accounts, such as shoring-up underfunded pension plans. No new jobs.

Sorry Lizzie, but when it quacks, waddles and looks like a duck, it is a duck. Most of you north-easterners have no clue how the rest of America lives and think the rules don’t apply to you. Take your boy Kerry, buys a yacht and docs it in a state where he doesn’t have to pay a $500,000 tax bill. Look at Charlie Rangle, write the tax code and then doesn’t follow it.
So you are happy with the liar in the white house who said that all debates on new bills would be televised on CSPAN for a week before voting on them? Health care, financial report and stimulus spending bills were all shoved through on a Friday afternoon without debate - wasn’t health care “deemed passed” - what a crock. Hell, they are so scared of mid-term elections that they won’t even put an official budget together - they will wait until after the election. Yet the media is quiet on the entire matter.

You are in the wrong place for spirited debate, but the right place for an eye opening education about what the liberal media is NOT telling you. Something tells me that you won’t stick around too long.
