Elementary Teacher Charged with Sex With 12 Year Old Boy

San Antonio police Saturday night arrested a 38 year old teacher in the Northside ISD and charged her with engaging in sexual activity with a 12 year old boy.

An arrest warrant obtained by 1200 WOAI news claims that Lucinda Caldwell, 38, is a fifth grade teacher at Cable Elementary School on Pinn Road.

The affidavit claims Caldwell picked up the boy at his far west side home Friday night and drove to a hotel, where the sexual contact allegedly took place.

But when she tried to return the youngster to his home early Saturday, his dad was waiting, so she drove off and drove into Medina County, where police there arrested her and rescued the boy.

It is not known whether the boy is a student of Caldwell's, or whether he attends Cable Elementary School. Caldwell is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. A spokesman at the Bexar County Jail said he didn't have information on whether bond had been set.

Officials didn't say how the contact between the boy and the teacher was made, because school is not in session, or whether the two had some sort of ongoing relationship.

This needs some real investigation.

If the mother (or father) was home and allowed the boy to leave with the woman,then they were anywhere from absurdly naieve to complicit.I bring this up because of a situation brought to my attention where the mother encouraged her young teenage sons sexual activity as aprt of "having a life".

On the face of it,this teacher has some 'splainin' to do,and some jail time to serve,but she might not be the only one.

OK, maybe just a lecture from the Court, followed by parental punishment as they see fit.

However, without resort to soft science?Liberoid platitutdes, can any FReeper point me to real hard data showing actual damages to a young male getting an early introduction to sex?

Given that females tend to imprint on their first sex partners, I understand parental/religious/societal regulation of female sexual exploration.

My question is about hard data (NO PUN intended, Liberal!) regarding demonstrated damage to the male in the same age group, so specific references would be appreciated.

We have had one or more of these stories a month for severals years now.

I believe 90% have been female teacher, male student.

Yep, like Mary Kay Letourno(sp?) and her boyfriend. They are married now, if I recall correctly. So this could be a case like that.

But, what can you say about an adult woman who would be in love with a 12 year old boy, if they are going to go there as an explanation. Something not quite right with such a woman.

The damage is similar - And dare I say, the same as the damage brought onto sex partners below the age of -> 25 <- . The damage is the exploitation of someone (anyone) who is not of sound mind to make crucial decisions, such as exposure to VD, Pregnancy, or other psycho-socio outcomes of the behavior.

In other words, it is (in my opinion) criminal to engage in sexual activity with ANYONE who is too young to make sound decisions - In my observation, those below the age of 25.

I would not like to do that one tiny bit. I also wouldn't dump on a dude for asking for scientific data and than being handed the Code of Federal Regulations as an answer. That's the worse kind of idea - he was looking for truth - and the law is hardly a source.

In all honesty, even though I often weigh in on these threads with the childish guilty/not guilty game, I truly believe it's all too easy to mess up a boy with this type of thing. Adolescence is hard enough without throwing a wickedly confusing curve like this at someone. There's antedotal evidence of boys messed up by it.

But thank you for asking for logic and reason - that is my whole point. A group who will shut down an economy over a pretend man-made global warming issue is not where I go to find my truth.
