Palin DOES NOT want to be worshipped (why are people saying that ?)

Posted on 07/29/2010 8:49:11 PM PDT by se_ohio_young_conservative

There seems to be a tactic used by many here and elsewhere to mock Sarah Palin as some kind of messiah figure because she has a lot of fans. This is not only wrong, this is disgusting.

Sarah Palin has never presented herself as an Obama type figure that wants to be seen as a savior. She has been polite and decent on the national stage. She has treated people around this country very good in her time on the national stage.

Yet, some people talk about her as an object or a piece of trash. We have someone around here who calls Sarah Palin "precious" and another person who calls her "Minnie Pearl".

I want some of those out there who mock her on a daily basis to stop and think... Sarah Palin is real human being. And how would Sarah Palin treat you ?

Here is a woman who never had to serve in government, she did by choice. She doesn't have to fight for our country on the national stage, she is doing so by choice. I don't think anyone can question how much Sarah Palin loves America. She loves our troops. She is one of us. She is right on the money with most of her positions on the issues. She sued the federal government so that we could have a right to drill in ANWR for goodness sake. How big of a help would that be to this country if we could use our own energy resources ?

So please, somebody tell. What did Sarah Palin do to be mocked ? What did Sarah Palin do to be mocked as a sock puppet on this site ? What did she do to deserve the hate ?

Again, Sarah Palin is a real person who is a patriot who loves and her country.

where does all of the other stuff come from ?

I was JOKING. you can’t possibly think I was serious. I say a lot of things in frustration. however, if this country does reject Sarah Palin, I think it would be a shame.

You're a damned liar. Let's look at the whole post.

Sarah Palin is our best choice. it HAS to be her. If this country rejects. It deserves late 1980s soviet style brutal starvation. And I mean that serious. If we let the media destroy our candidates, we don’t have much of a cause now do me ? We are nothing if that is the case.

I even highlighted the part where you claimed that you were serious. That was no joke, and no one reading it would see any humor in it. You weren't joking, and now you're trying to lie your way out of it.

No such thing as 'perfect' parent.
You're there for them, they'll love you for that. You care, you'll teach them to think and nothing is as good as having the parent at home, no matter how hard it is.

The dude is all over the ball field. Here’s a statement from him of just a few days ago:
I have attended college. I didn’t like it.
I am self educated

Not liking college and being self educated doesn't necessarily negate the idea of working towards one's degree, which can be done via an external degree program (many of which are accredited), vocational courses, there are any number of ways.

SEOYC says he's attended college and didn't care for it, and that he's working to get his degree. The two statements are not incompatible, he gets the benefit of the doubt from me, anyway.

Well she doesn’t like Sarah Palin.. Thats all I need to know about her to form a negative opinion !

If you are truly in favor of Palin for president, wouldn't it make more sense to convince doubters rather than dismiss them out of hand? The bizarre tactics of some of the Palin supporters are not helpful and are doing much more harm than good.

I am not certain what exactly the future will bring. It will all depend on finances. You know that. It is very hard to survive on one income in this economy. You run out of wiggle room. If I am ever in the position where I can spend more time with Krista and Claire, I would do that. I would work part time again. As long as we are financially stable.

Mike (and I know your name is Mike from one of your earlier posts you made), just one suggestion off topic: you might not want to mention your daughter's actual names online (a little late now, anyway), just for the sake of your own privacy and personal safety. I don't think anyone on FR would ever pose any risk to you or your family, they (and I) might call you a few names from time to time, but the ones you have to be concerned about are the REAL nuts outside FR who browse and cruise forums like this just for the sole purpose of trying to obtain such personal information for who-knows-what nefarious purpose. Just a friendly word of advice.

Yes, it is tough these days to get by on one income, however I know more than a few people who are doing exactly that, and they're not mega-millionaires with lots of resources, or on a big salary. They're workin' stiffs and it's not easy, but they're doing it. Like the saying goes, "your mileage may vary" and I'm sure you're doing the best you can.

and we would not leave them with just anybody. My sister in law is a babysitter.

Family is nearly always preferable when it comes to looking after your kids (of course there are always exceptions, like the drunken weirdo relative that thinks it's ok for kids to chew tobacco, lol).

I don’t think it would be right to ask my wife to give up a VERY VERY good job so I could go test some waters somewhere.

I can appreciate that sentiment.

If I have to be the one to sacrafice, that is fine with me. She carried twins and worked very hard to get her degree. I know traditionally the man is supposed to be the leader of a family. Well, if we were a football team she would be the quarterback. and thats ok with me. Times change.

Times do change, but if your wife has been fated to be the quarterback as you say, your role by default must be the owner/general manager of that team.

Here's to a winning season Mike:

"Your attempt at comparing SARAH to Mitt is laughable!"

There are a lot of differences between the two, I am not denying that. There is also one big similarity. Both have taken positions on key issues that should rule them out as a choice to lead conservatives. With Mitt, it is his health care plan. With Sarah it was her pushing publicly for the passage of the Law of the Sea Treaty in 2007 while she was still Governor of Alaska.

Both have done other things that are questionable in my mind, but the two issues mentioned above are deal killers in and of themselves. Mitt's shortcomings are well known and have been spelled out in great detail on this site. When considering who to back for the President, an issue like support for the Law of the Sea Treaty is a MAJOR consideration. That monstrosity presents an significant threat to our sovereignty and all serious conservatives have unequivocally rejected it. The fact that this issue is largely ignored when considering Sarah as the person to lead the conservative movement is a real mystery to me.

"Is there any evidence Palin has renounced her positions on LOST or carbon credits?"

I am not sure about carbon credits, but she reaffirmed her support for LOST in 2009 on a radio show while still Governor.

Not sure if you are aware of it - but your posts are so media/so slanted - NO conservative would take you serious - and your attempt at it makes for a good laugh! Your’s is a dime a dozen post.

Rock on SARAH! The weak can’t handle a strong conservative woman so they talk, talk, talk about you thinking their words have power! LOL!

"but your posts are so media/so slanted "

Please point out to me just where the media has been taking Sarah to task on her support for LOST. Most of the MSM outlets agree with her on that position. It is a fact that she wrote a letter to the Alaska U.S. Senate delegation in 2007 while still Governor urging them to support LOST. A number of pro-sovereignty conservative groups have tried to get her to rethink that support with no success. That is where the criticism on this issue is coming from. Do you agree with with her support for the Law of the Sea Treaty? If you do not, is the issue of little importance to you? If the issue is not important to you, why not? If is is important, why are you ignoring Sarah's support for it?

BTW, not only has she supported Carbon Credits, but she created a sub-cabinet to deal specifically with climate change.

Take a look at Appendix C Administrative Order 238 Establishing the Alaska Climate Change Sub-Cabinet which former governor palin ordered in Sep 2007. Two items in particular:

9. the potential benefits of Alaska participating in regional, national, and international climate policy agreements and greenhouse gas registries 13. the opportunities for Alaska to participate in carbon-trading markets, including the offering of carbon sequestration;

This goes well beyond what Newt did in cozying up to the global warming crowd.

I didn’t give out our last name. But I know what you are saying. One of those automatic things where I was just typing thoughts as they came to me.

thanks.

We are trying our best to raise our family the best we can. A few years ago we started out with very little money and some old cheap furniture that wouldn’t have been worth much at a yard sale. We married young against the advice of certain people.. so the whole thing has been like learning on the job so to speak. We have had to learn twice as fast because we became parents of TWO a lot sooner than we ever imagined we would. But im blessed to have a wife who is mature and so positive in her outlook on life and being a mom.

Now that we have a little extra money to spend, we are too busy to enjoy it. lol
