If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
Honestly - I just don’t get this Sword....guess I’ll have to re-read it...
One serious question, Sword...been comparing tablets with iPads. What (if any) immediate changes are on the horizon for the iPad, that you’re aware of?
I don’t think so. This is a mistake Apple will probably drop as people refuse to use it.
Someone gave me a Magic Mouse. Nice as it is, it sucks and I went back to the Logitech G5.
I don’t know why Apple has suck a blind spot for input devices. It’s weird.

Thank yuo for posting this. I’ve never owned a Mac but am considering purchasing one for music and video work I’ll be doing next year. So I’m slowly trying to educate myself on a subject I know nothing about, and this is all very helpful.
thanks for the post!
How will you be able to hit ctrl-alt-apple key????
It's too tiring to move your hands across a 24-inch or 27-inch display. The idea of a good swiveling stand that will allow the user to easily move the display down to a very low angle, so she can use it similarly to a Microsoft Surface, sounds good in a sci-fi kind of way. But at the end of a work day, your neck and arms will hurt. The angle will also limit readability and, in any case, you will obscure part of the screen with your arms.IMHO that problem is fatal to the desktop touchscreen. But it's also true that switching the right hand between a mouse and keyboard is a serious nuisance. One solution for the pointer is infrared head tracking devices. That allows the user to move the cursor with subtle head movement, leaving both hands free for the keyboard.Of course the keyboard needs to die, too - replaced by voice input, which is far more natural to humans than manual texting can be. CP3O in your pocket, anyone?
I just do not get this either, but then again, I am just starting to have my first cup of coffee.
Using one now. It's aiight, but doesn't yet have the multitouch features.
I do too much side-by-side stuff for this to really work for me. The loss of multiple desktops is one of the things I really don't like about OSX. I really can't live without 4-8 desktops.
The last thing I want is the ‘notebook experience’. As an adjunct maybe but certainly not for full control. Same w/ touchscreen.
I’ll stick with my Marble Mouse. A friend gave me one several years ago and after about a day I was hooked.
I always keep an extra in the drawer as they seem to be getting scarce.
I see this as more of a niche product to bring Apple’s mobile customers back into the store to pick up a desktop CPU of some sort.
Bookmark.
I dread the day Apple controls the Mac like they do the iPad.
No independent purchase of software...if Jobs decides he doesn’t want me to buy Photoshop he can just remove it from the obligatory store. Also, if he decides he only wants me to use Safari and not Chrome, that will be the only choice open to me.
Yuck..I really, really don’t want to see that.
Thanks, Sword,
Ed
