.Share WOODBURY, Minn - Police in Minnesota said a car crashed into a liquor store when the 71-year-old motorist's dachshund puppy wedged itself between his feet and the gas pedal.
Woodbury Police Sgt. Curt Zacharias said Richard Coerber, 72, was pulling into a parking space about noon Tuesday at Woodbury Liquors when the small dog jumped on the accelerator, the St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer-Press reported Thursday.
"He got between the feet and the pedal," Zacharias said. "It was lucky that no one was walking by at that moment."
Zacharias said there was moderate damage to the vehicle and building. He said the puppy was OK and no humans were injured.

Evil cute dog that lives in my house:

Both are dachshund mixes. The one looking out the window is mostly cattle dog, and she's fine, but the other one is still a monster. She gets away with a lot because she's so cute (or so I'm told).

I got it! The lawyer can sue the driver on behalf of the dog. Of course, the driver would have to pay the dog which he owns so he would wind up with his own money but in the meantime the lawyer would take a hefty sum first and thats what its all about.

As long as the pup wasnt between her feet and the brake,
From the article, I got the impression that the driver was male:
"a car crashed into a liquor store when the 71-year-old motorist's dachshund puppy wedged itself between his feet and the gas pedal."

People who drive with these little dogs on their lap or with fido hanging his head out the drivers window are worse then people who text while driving. NO. Everyday I have a damn fool texting swerve into my lane, sometimes several a day. I've never had anyone with a pet do that. Just this morning I told my wife to set aside bail money because the first fool who hits me while texting I intend to punch the letters A S S H O * *, with my fist, in Morse code on his face.

yeah texting and even being on the phone while driving are my pet peeves. I need to get one of those bumper stickers that says “shut up and drive”.
I think pets who drive with their owners are cute and have never had a problem with these drivers. I’d never have a pet in my lap because I would find it annoying - besides REAL dogs are much bigger than that and I like the bigger dogs.

OMG! I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a dog picture cuter than that!

I like both sizes. Since I've been an adult I've only owned mini dachshunds and yellow labs.
