Harley-Davidson Inc. said Tuesday it expects the global market for motorcycles to remain challenging this year as more consumers opt for lower-priced used motorcycles instead of new ones.
Chief Executive Officer Keith Wandell said he expects Harley's shipments to be down 5%-10% from 2009, while the preference for used motorcycles and the weaker world economy have pushed year-to-date retail sales down 40% from the company peak in 2006...

thanks. will read bits at a time here. didn’t mention anything about brookfield, WI?
I’d avoid them. they are overpriced and less reliable than other harley engine clones. Unless things have changed. I’ve been out of the loop for 5-8 years. Big dog dumped S&S and switched to something else I forget what.
Wisconsin passed some goofy tax law where Harley has to pay taxes to Wisconsin for out of state plants...companies here are drying up.
The only thing missing is Unicorn Farts. Does anyone wonder how we ended up with Obama.
you shouls go to 3:40 of this video and listen to the claims S&S makes regarding Harley Davidson engines and their own.
they have an engine wrecking machine, and say that Harley’s last about two hours, theirs is reaching 200 hrs. That’s 100 times longer. Pretty impressive don’t you think.
Your’s is the first negative I have ever heard on S&S.

Every post here is missing the point.
Harley’s are made by unionists.
The good news is that Hussein has not mandated *electric* bikes like the announcement that Obama Motors has the Chevrolet Dolt coming out with a hefty tax subsidized by us in November.
It’s only $41,000 for a fancy golf cart. And taxpayers will be paying the federal subsidy whatever it is, heard on local radio some $8,000 bucks.
heard good things about them. never had one
I would very much like to have a conversation on this subject with you, but you are so clueless, it wouldn’t be worth the effort for either of us.
Unlike the metric punks, when I’m on one of my 2 Harley’s, I know that I look good.
I have traveled all over our country on a Harley and loved every mile. The last trip took a month and was over 9,000 wonderful miles.
Have fun on your wingding...... I know that I will on my Rolling Thunder.
union..yep
ROFLMAO....@ that thing.
i started with a sporty, and i am over two hundred at six feet tall. the bike shop owner where i take them to the dyno said me and my bike looked like a pissant carrying a crouton.
couple months later i got a ‘97 heritage. called her ruby. man big bikes are the bomb.
Shut down a factory, cut back on the number of dealers to support and eliminated LOTS of unneeded positions. It was really pretty simple.

Don’t forget dumping the Brunel line.
know anything about the revtech or baker products. esp. drivetrain, tranny?
I’d dig out the old harley magazines and look it up for ya but I donated my entire life’s collection last summer to the US soldiers in the middle east.
oops. post was to you.
know anything about the revtech or baker products. esp. drivetrain, tranny?
you should check out that video above.
It’s an aircooled Vtwin...large displacement, high torque, low RPM design...just like a harley!
LOL
very nice. sure will enjoy your generosity. don’t you think that harley will be keen on their own brand. just like S&S i’m sure. i want to build a bike, chopper. not sure about going with a harley engine.
