It is OEM.
See the LG product just above....

Cons: -This is not a consumer product! Support for this drive is officially provided by: LGcommercial
-There are currently no Firmware updates
-LTH technology from Verbatim is currently not supported (if you use Verbatim, don't get LTH for this drive!)
-LG support for this drive seems to be very limitted. I asked for a firmware update for certain features and the reply was very generic and no hope of ever getting one.

SAYS OEM, but comes with everything
Pros: For an "OEM" burner, it comes with everything that normally comes with a "RETAIL" one, except a fancy wax-coated box with pretty pictures. It has software to burn BLU-RAYS! That is almost worth the entire cost of the drive. It costs nearly one hundred dollars to purchase software to burn Blu-ray disks. It came with a SATA cable AND a standard Molex to SATA power convertor. Literally everything you need to install and burn away, including one free disk!

This one answers a question for me:

Pros: Bought for use on Linux so lack of software not a problem for me. Drive will burn Verbatim LTH BD-Rs, but only after the drive first fails and the drawer is opened and closed again. I am using K3B (version 2.0.0) on an alpha release of Maverick Kubuntu. Older versions of K3B will not recognize BD-Rs but will burn BD-REs.
Cons: Just as slow burning as previous LG models on LTH BD-Rs (1.5 hours) despite the speed increase for faster discs.
But I am loving it so far. Two, count 'em two, lovely companions for the 11th Doctor.

Other Thoughts: Just inconsistent in what you get. Some get everything: software, sata cable + power, and 1 BR blank media. Some get nothing but the bare drive.
pingaroo....
I’m not a fan of the new Amy, but I like River. I really liked Donna and Rose.
Out of the new episodes I thought the Vincent one SO creative, but it lost a little in how they translated it. Imagine - Vincent wasn’t really crazy, he just could see colors and such so perfectly he could see an alien no one else could. What a great concept.
Lol, I know what you mean. No spoilers from me anyway because I don't have cable. I wasn't aware that they are showing it on iTunes. Is it expensive to watch it there?
Thanks for the link, Ernest. Hopefully the manufacturers will become more competitive and drive down the price of Blue Ray players.
Doctor Who -- From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious and eccentric humanoid alien known as the Doctor who travels through time and space in his spacecraft, the TARDIS (an acronym for Time And Relative Dimension In Space), which normally appears from the exterior to be a blue 1950s British police box. With his companions, he explores time and space, faces a variety of foes, and rights wrongs.
The programme is listed in Guinness World Records as the longest-running science fiction television show in the world,[1] and as the "most successful" science fiction series of all time, in terms of its overall broadcast ratings, DVD and book sales, iTunes traffic, and "illegal downloads".[2]
yippy skip.
Going thru Fry's there has been a large increase of available bluray material to buy.
Then the other day , I think Toshiba announced they could produce the Media with a triple layer blank that could hold 100 Gigabyte...put up a thread on that.
and there have been other little signs.
What has been lacking is the price drop on the hardware readers and writers.
LG seems to be getting the game going.
Prices on DVD readers and writers have really gotten low...and with SATA connections.
It just takes one or two of the Asian bulk manufactures to switch his DVD line off and start up a Bluray line and the competition will get rolling.
Maybe the problem has been something internal like the actual blue laser as too costly....don't really know.
Another one to watch is hard Drives....Fry's on their online has :
Western Digital 1.5TB SATA/300 Bare Hard Drive - WD15EARS
Price: $68.00
Currently out of stock online.,...check store for availability.
Oh great, thank you very much Ernest. I’ll keep watching to see what Fry’s comes up with.
