Was it that long ago when I saw the stuffed Trigger on display in Apple Valley, CA as a teen?

"Closed! Why?"

I was just in Branson a few weeks ago. At the time I noticed that many of the traditional shows and theaters were closed or obviously failing. Branson is drawing younger crowds with families, they probably don't know Roy and Trigger.

RFD-TV has a beautiful theater in Branson. It is one of the newest. I hope Trigger is just moving down the street and staying in Branson.

Too bad that the family doesnt re-release all the old Roy Rogers shows on dvds. I would pay a lot to see them again. I used to watch while sitting on my bouncy horse wearing my real cowboy girl outfit, my six shooters and leather cowboots. And of course my red cowboy hat.

...and that was last year! joke

Seriously, my children are delighted with the old shows we find on the net. I think Roy and Dale need some promo...

When the late humorist/columnist Lewis Grizzard visited Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and toured their museum; he saw the stuffed horse Trigger and said to Dale Evans, “No offense Dale, but looking at Trigger on display in the lobby, I hope Roy dies before you do.”

Am I the only one who thinks Trigger should be in the Smithsonian?

Polka Joe is great, reminds me of parties my parents used to throw back in the 60’s. The classic tractor show is interesting, also. Good stuff.

I saw Roy Rogers at Madison Square Garden when I was a little kid. At the end of the show, he rode Trigger around the ring and my Father told me to run down there and put my hand out.
Roy came by and touched all the kids hands as he rode by, including mine. It’s one of my cherished childhood memories, along with meeting Dale Robertson at an amusement park called Freedomland.

Hard to believe it was over 50 years ago.

I obviously don’t get out much either. LOL

For me...I was in the 5th grade...it was in the old Houston Coliseum.

I spent many Saturday afternoons with Dale, Roy, Trigger, Gabby and their gang...then we went home and played it.

Same here, in Tulsa in 1951. Still drink an occasional hot chocolate (not Ovaltine anymore)out of my genuine plastic RR cup. Saw Trigger and RR Jr. on opening day in Branson. Happy Trails, KC.

I met Roy years ago and 2 of my good friends, one deceased, were his hunting partners for years.

I WAS THERE!

In fifth grade I went to the Fat Stock Show to see Roy and Dale in the old Houston Coliseum.

Remember Dale rode in a buggy because she was pg?

I think I remember seeing you there. :)
