On the plus side they are selling a lot of the phones with the poorly designed antenna.

Mr. Peel and I have the original iPhone and just upgraded to the iPhone4. We absolutely love it. It is so much faster, it has a stunningly clear display. We are in a fringe area and noticed our dropped calls have significantly decreased with the new phone. Found a couple bugs (facetime)- but nothing worth a “don’t buy” rant.

My whole life, prior to retiring, was in the radio communications business, including ownership of a mobile phone service.
I never bought any new technology, just to look and feel cool.
Those that wait in line to have the latest cool gadget, turn out to be just guinea pigs.

Actually, the iPhone 4 is a awesome cellphone--superb display, excellent built-in camera for still pictures, and the quite good iOS 4.0--that is let down by that antenna issue. Hopefully, Apple will issue a quick fix for the antenna problem for an otherwise very good device.

It's kept me from buying one. The reception with the 3G and 3GS is bad enough....I don't need to go down another 20dB.
And before someone says it, it's not AT&T: my iPhone reception is noticeably worse than my Razr and Sony 580i reception ever was.
Furthermore, OS4 wasn't ready for primetime on a 3GS and by itself, screws the phone up a tad.

What goes around comes around. Oh look, you mean, Apple acts like a normal Corporate Giant?! Who new? They are just another big company who does some things very well.
I remember defending Apple back in the day, and now, I get sick of seeing (some) of the Apple Fanatics. I would hate the Windows Fanatics, if there were any. I dont care for the Linux Fanatics either..
I just don't see why there is all the hatred for companies and machines, jeese.
My brother has a new iPhone 4. And yes, we tested it in a fringe area and sure enough, it drops a call or two. He's still happy with it though because where he lives and works, it ain't a fringe area, plus, he uses a silicone case around it which fixes the problem.
As for me, I'm waiting for the iPad prices to drop, then I'll probably get one. But I dont worship the company. I save fandom for real important things like... Sports!!!!! :)
