Apple was on Tuesday facing a growing backlash over poor iPhone 4 reception after the technology group blocked links on its user-support pages to a negative review by an influential US consumer watchdog.
Consumer Reports, the non-profit magazine, on Monday published a review online that stated it had tested three iPhone 4s in controlled settings and found that touching the lower left corner can significantly degrade the signal, causing dropped calls.
Apple deleted references in several online discussions to the consumer groups online posting, leading VentureBeat and investment blogs to pounce on what they described as censorship in the Apple-hosted forums

What like is that Keith? The line that Apple products aren’t perfect? That perhaps people considering buying apple products should know there are differing views?
Just what line are you referring too?
But, but, Rush Limbau uses MAC. And, and, they run so good, which “I bought my Apple 2 and Wendy in 1983 and it is SO good, I have never needed another computer since and it even takes out the garbage and gets me the newspaper every mourning!
So, don’t say bad things about MAC!
Dunno I try to stay off the birther threads as much as possible.
What is an Iphone? What is an Iphone4?
My whole life, prior to retiring, was in the radio communications business, including ownership of a mobile phone service.
I never bought any new technology, just to look and feel cool.
Those that wait in line to have the latest cool gadget, turn out to be just guinea pigs.
More of an issue of how those views are presented isn’t it? There has been a lot of material posted for no other reason than to troll Mac users.
“Those that wait in line to have the latest cool gadget, turn out to be just guinea pigs.”
Bleeding edge for a reason.
Not really, even the most technical discussion is immediately met with snarky comments, claims of FUD without substantian, or blatant personal attacks.
But the thread isn’t about the mac/windows debate going on. Its about the iphone and the bad rep its generating for apple.
>>> Not really, even the most technical discussion is immediately met with snarky comments, claims of FUD without substantian, or blatant personal attacks.
Brilliant analysis from a primary practitioner of that which he bemoans... < /roll eyes> a fine oot-kettle moment on FR.
oot = pot.
>>>There has been a lot of material posted for no other reason than to troll Mac users.
Bingo.
LOL!
And....It takes out the garbage and gets your newspaper for you in the mourning?
'Making an argument' is not 'censorship'.
I don't have a dog in this fight, but I'd like to thank you for using the correct "toe his line" rather than "tow his line," which is what we see about 90% of the time. It's a tough road to hoe. ;)
“’Making an argument’ is not ‘censorship’. “
Making an argument is not censorship, agreed.
Telling people not to post on mac threads unless they support mac, is censorship. Telling an entire ping list to ignore specific people is censorship.
Go join your buddies at the racist NAACP.
You mean kinda like how a lot of anti-Windows material has been posted on FR for over a decade for no other purpose but to troll Windows users?
Tats pretty sensitive for a bunch of guys who exist to spew our anti-Windows garbage and regularly do drive-by shooting on Windows treads isn't it? Mac users are and have been the most obnoxious posters on FR and other tech sites for years.
You can dish it out but you cant take it?
