Who in their right mind would suggest that gold will eventually reach $2,500, let alone $5,000 or even $10,000? Well, I did some investigation and, believe it or not, there are almost 70 economists, academics, gold analysts and market commentators who believe gold may go as high as $10,000 an ounce before the bubble finally pops.
Below is a list of such individuals each of whom has sound reasons to substantiate his or her views. I encourage you to check out their articles and their rationale for such high gold prices in the years (and in some cases just months) to come.

wouldnt the US just confiscate it all if it got to say, $5000 ? ?
If true, people with, or suspected of having, gold dental fillings will need a body guard. Invest in body guard stocks?
Check your ping list.
Only 70? I think you'll find more than believe that Xenu mined the Earth's gold fifty million years ago.
If money will be worthless and gold will go through the roof - then why do all of these people advertising want to take my worthless money in exchange for gold?
Something doesn’t add up there.
This guy says no, if only because the BIS (the same BIS that has been in goldbug news lately) supposedly still has claims against the U.S. gold priced at the old $24 price.

Other arguments against confiscation are that the world economy is much more global and mobile than it was way back then.

No prob.
Gold will hit $10k when coffee costs $80 a cup
I'm holding gold.
Then again, years ago I was snowed in at a very small cabin with just my dog. After about 4 days of him sitting on the opposite side of the room staring at me, I was terrified that he was about to say something to me in clear English. Thought I'd literally lose my mind if he looked at me and said "Hey, what's for dinner?"
So, yeah. I like gold.
Gold is as worthless as paper money in the end.
It serves no useful utility, you can’t eat it, and you can defend yourself with it. If TSHTF, I’d take a couple thousand rounds of ammo(lead copper+brass) over an ounce of Gold any day.
They're the same people offering money for gold jewelry. It's a business model.
I’m holding it too because I bought it at $295 but I’m not buying any more.
the minute I buy some...the VERY minute...there will be a major collapse......
Sure, I hear this kind of argument all the time... but show me one time in the last 5000 years of recorded human history when a guy with gold in his hand went hungry.
There are plenty of people who went hungry when the German Mark went to essentially zero value; and that was basically what brought Hitler to power.
“wouldnt the US just confiscate it all if it got to say, $5000 ? ?”
Only if they knew you had it.
I lost all of mine in a horrible fishing accident.
That's my story and I first heard it from another freeper.
“I lost all of mine in a horrible fishing accident.’
Well then, my condolences ;)
