LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - A 47-year-old man's friends set his prosthetic leg on fire after he lost a drinking bet, causing him to suffer severe burns to his buttocks and lower back. Dona Ana County sheriff's deputies found the man naked on the side of U.S. Route 70 with his prosthetic leg in flames. Deputies learned that the man and his friends were drinking Monday and bet that whoever drank the least would be set on fire. The man told investigators that at six beers, he drank the least, and agreed to let his friends set him on fire.

Ha! When I saw the headline 0I thought it didn’t sound right. NHites are ornery and they may be a bit ugly, but they’re not generally stupid!
He’s a real stand-up guy (well, maybe not now). He needs better friends though.
You are right. Around here it is generally believed that you have to head over to Maine if you want to get to drinking with the kind of characters described in the article.
“Hes a real stand-up guy....”

6 beers....what size of beer? Oh set a man on fire and he is warm for life...RLMAO!!!!!!!
Six beers? Six AMERICAN beers and he couldn’t keep up? For shame.
His “friends” cheated. With a missing leg, there was no way he could keep up in a drinking contest.
Oops. Forgot to ping you to my witty comment in Post #27.
Excellent point. This guy needs better friends.
New Mexico: Making Florida look like an island of sanity.
The Governor of NH is a democrat; both Congressmen are commie/democrat; one Senator is a democrat; and Obama carried the state in 2008..."not generally stupid?" :-)
The Democrat guv is a sustained slap at the state GOP for their prior governor having been corrupt. And the rest should be Republican again after November.
I hear ya, but it’s not a state full of people who set themselves on fire. Somehow the Sunbelt, Michigan, and, as a previous poster suggested, Maine are the more likely sources for that.
He was just trying to get a leg up on the competition.
