One month after the disappearance of 7-year-old Kyron Horman, police reportedly said a landscaper told them the Oregon boy's stepmother tried to hire him to kill her husband, Kaine Horman.
After a month with no trace of Kyron the family still hopes for his safe return. The allegation, first reported in The Oregonian but confirmed by ABC News affiliate KATU-TV in Portland through a source close to the investigation, thickens the cloud of suspicion surrounding Terri Horman, the last person to see Kyron before he went missing on June 4
The landscaper allegedly told police that Terri Horman approached him about killing her husband six or seven months before Kyron disappeared, the sources said.

Ann Rule’s book; Small Sacrifices was based on her case.
Following these cases does become overwhelming.
He says that he noticed the truck because it's identical to one owned by a friend and so he drove up very close when he saw a red haired female driver.
I wonder if LE asked KOIN to report on this, to see if there's any reaction from TMH?
I hope the delay is because there are hundreds of good tips they must check out with only limited investigators. The phone pings put her in that area - so this is more substantiation.

Locals in Portland claim that Grand Juries meet on Tuesdays & Thursdays.
Allegedly Terri showed the sealed restraining order to one Michael Cook, who is a high school friend of Kaine's and who organized a vigil for Kyron; allegedly she has been sexting this Michael Cook who has been delivering groceries to the home after Kaine moved out with the toddler daughter.
Apparently Terri attempted to snatch the daughter from the gym while Kaine was working out, and police were called.
Kaine wants her found in contempt of court for sharing the restraining order which the court had sealed.
There's probably LOTS more, but I got sick of reading the boards, it's so distasteful with a missing child to hear about these shennanigans.
Thx HP
Listening to CNN Headline News - discussing the affair and Post Partum Depression being described by Kaine.
Praying for Kyron - hoping she sold him to a desperate mother - anything else is unthinkable.
I know it sounds absolutely nuts, but . . . .
That is one weird story. The Cook guy organized Kyron’s vigil which is when TH first met him. Then they immediately have an affair?
She is nuts and it seems to be contagious.
**** she wanted to divorce Kaine, but couldn’t bear the idea of leaving Kyron whom she raised for so many years..***
Good thinking - if she really resented Kyron - she could have always talked Kaine into letting Desiree have more custody time. IIRC She stepped into his life when he was only a few days old and his photos seem to show a very happy child. I think giving her bio 16 yea-old might have triggered some kind of resentment/revenge against Kaine, but why Kyron?
I thought that the term "congenital liar" was just layperson talk, I didn't know it was a clinical term.

How can you tell if someone is a pathological liar?
In: Mental Health and Addiction
- Identifying a Pathological Liar
Pathological liars, or "mythomaniacs," may be suffering from histrionic personality disorder or narcissistic personality disorder. The following comments basically reflect a pathological liar who has the characteristics of histrionic personality disorder.
Some characteristics:
1. Exaggerates things that are ridiculous.
2. One-upping. Whatever you do, this person can do it better. You will never top them in their own mind, because they have a concerted need to be better than everyone else. This also applies to being right. If you try to confront an individual like this, no matter how lovingly and well-intentioned you might be - this will probably not be effective. It's threatening their fantasy of themselves, so they would rather argue with you and bring out the sharp knives than admit that there's anything wrong with them.
3. They "construct" a reality around themselves. They don't value the truth, especially if they don't see it as hurting anyone. If you call them on a lie and they are backed into a corner, they will act very defensively and say ugly things (most likely but depends on personality), but they may eventually start to act like, "Well, what's the difference? You're making a big deal out of nothing!" (again, to refocus the conversation to your wrongdoing instead of theirs).
4. Because these people don't value honesty, a lot of times they will not value loyalty. So watch what you tell them. They will not only tell others, but they will embellish to make you look worse. Their loyalty is fleeting, and because they are insecure people, they will find solace in confiding to whomever is in their favor at the moment.
5. They may be somewhat of a hypochondriac. This can come in especially useful when caught in a lie, for example, they can claim that they have been sick, or that there's some mysteriously "illness" that has them all stressed out. It's another excuse tool for their behavior.
6. Obviously, they will contradict what they say. This will become very clear over time. They usually aren't smart enough to keep track of so many lies (who would be?).
Here are some ways to tell someone is a pathological liar:
They lie about even the smallest things. For example, saying "I brushed my teeth today," when they didn't.
They add exaggerations to every sentence.
They change their story all the time.
They act very defensively when you question their statements.
They believe what they say is true, when everyone else knows it isn't.
Here's an alternate "checklist":
Lies when it is very easy to tell the truth.
Lies to get sympathy, to look better, to save their butt, etc.
Fools people at first but once they get to know him, no one believes anything they ever say.
May have a personality disorder.
Extremely manipulative.
Has been caught in lies repeatedly.
Never fesses up to the lies.
Is a legend in their own mind.

I'd also like to hear from a doctor about her allegedly have post partum depression, and like so many other posters wonder WHAT HAPPENED to her in the last several months when her appearance so rapidly deteriorated.
I'm just amazed that someone who can lie CONTINUOUSLY made it through grad school -- I realize I shouldn't be, but frankly, I'm used to psychopathic liars appearing to be like Joran or Misty or Casey or Susan Smith.... not a teacher with a masters degree in education and THREE children.
And, sorry, but what's WRONG with Kaine that he allegedly never noticed anything wrong with their marriage????????? And if Desireee is correct, that Terri lies about virtually EVERYTHING, that Terri is a compulsive liar --- just HOW did Kaine live with a congenital liar for the last seven years and decide to have a baby with her????????
HOW could he have never noticed that she lied about everything?
Something is really off the wall here, ya know???
It seems that a LOT of Terri's self-identity was wrapped up in being a mom, and specifically in being Kyron's stepmother.
THIS might be why the LEOs seemingly believe Kyron is alive?????
a landscaper told them the [missing] Oregon boy's stepmother tried to hire him to kill her husbandThanks hennie pennie.
“While Terri Horman has said she was in certain locations, investigators have placed her elsewhere using bank card records and cell phone pings, according to sources... Desiree said she and Kaine both passed polygraph tests “with flying colors.” Kaine said Terri did not pass either of the two tests she took. Sources confirmed to KGW that Terri not only flunked the two tests but walked out of one between the two, before the questioning even began.”
Sorry, I haven’t been around much the last few days to keep up with this case but the stepmom is loony toons, evil and loony toons. She’s taken Susan Smith’s “it’s all about me!” and ratcheted it up ten fold.

At WS one poster declared that TMH makes Misty C look sane, she’s totally off her rocker . . .
You know how many posters keep remarking that Terri just looks TERRIBLE in comparison to pre-February photographs? That she's gained weight, that she's obviously depressed, yada/yada, blah/blah?
And then, invariably in the same thread, a few posts later, someone will explain that when you are prepping for a bodybuilding contest that you always "bulk up" first.
And that ENDS any discussion about her obvious weight gain.
However....... do you not find it extraordinarily ODD that virtually nobody online, or at least nobody that I could locate, has ever ONCE, not even ONCE, posited that perhaps Terri Moulton Horman is pregnant -- doesn't it strike you as strange that the most obvious reason for a woman to suddenly bloat up is NEVER EVER mentioned, not even once????
I'm perplexed.
Good pondering there HP.
Her being pregnant would certainly generate some sympathy - and the friends who have been blogging on her behalf would have brought it up, maybe???
Is there any possibility that she didn’t kill Kyron, or hand him off to a third party, but just abandoned him in a place where he couldn’t get home by himself or call for help? Do we know if he ever had a cell phone?
